NOMINATION MEETING
A regretable lack of interest in I
local. affairs was shown by the tax-
payers of this village when only a
handful of people, other than those
directly concerned, attended the
,nomination Meeting here on Friday
evening.
The present council was returned,
by acelamaation and Ted MacLean is
the only new member on the school
board. iIre replaces Murray litietheti
who declined to stand.
Wm. Ti. King was appointed
chairman of . the meeting.
Reeve George Meautcheon was
the, first speaker, Re outlined Huron
'(purity affairs dealing with roads,
County Home, library, jail and
museum,. The latter, h e said; realized.
a revenue of over $5000 this year.
Mr. MeCtitcheori also informed the
meeting he is a, candidate for th e,
Wardenship of Huron County this
year with six aspiring reeves oppos-
ing him for the position.
Councillor 0. S, Elliott spoke of
the difficutly in securing industries
to locate here due 'to the lack of a
