death of Harry S. Stewart, of 1251
Victoria St., No wilt Baittleford,
Sask. He was 79 rears of age.
Born in Grey township, lot 2, con.
8, he was the son of the late Alex-
ander and Janet Smith Stewart. As
a young man he Went west to
Battleford. A year later, 1907, he
was married to Amanda Delmadge
at Rethsay, Ont., and they home-
steaded sit Scoot, Sask. They moved
back to Battleford in 1913; and in
1918 he fclithrled the TI. S. Stewart
and Son 'highway construction com-
pasN. Many of the'highways Of the
district were bpilt by this company.
He moved to North Battleford in
1952.
He was well known it, pioneer
organizations and activities in the
Battlefords. He +headed the original
committle that brovight about the
restoration of Peat Battleford, whieh
was later acquired by the federal
Government as an historical nark. He
was associated with the Pioneers'
Association, which he helped to form
in North BattlefOrd, tare year§ ago.
He was a Member- int the Masonic
Order. an honorary meniher of the
North Battleford .net,lr (drib, fold a
member of the United Commercial
