Porter, who died in hospital at Carman, Man., was held Mondaar„ with burial CaGman cemetery, He was 71 'years of ,age, and had been ill about three months, Born in Grey Township, he was a son of the late Hugh Porter and the former Mary Elizabeth Fox. A5 young into he spent some years as clerk in a Brussels 'store. Thirty- nine years aga„ he moved to Carman, where he was in Charge of an auto sale agency, His wife, the 'fennel. Elsie 'Mimic of Winnipeg; died two years ado. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Hilton (Roberta) Drake and Mrs. ailairiel. Sani McQuarrie was the fourth son of Donald and Janet McQuarrie, pioneer (residents of the 4th line of •Grey, where he was born . eighty years ago. His early life was spent in the original 'homestead and later an farms on the Gth Line of Morris and the 9th concession of Grey, He went west to North Dakota sixty- three years ago and 'a tew years later he homsteacled in Saskat- chewan heat 'Howard. He moved to a farm in Manitoba thirty-five years agb and retired twenty-five years 'later in Pilot Mound, where be lived until ill health six months ago com- pelled his removal to hoapital Souris.
