BANK GIRLS
HOLD SHOWER
On Friday evening, Sept. 12th e
miscellanea-es shower was held by
the girls of the Canadian Bank of
Commerce staff in honour of a .co II -
worker, Miss Margaret Conley, who
is to be married later this month.
Over sAixty friends were present to
extend their Best Wishes to the
bride-to-be and to enjoy a social
evening to-gether.
Following two .contests an appro-
pitate address was read by Mrs.
Joyce van Vliet end gifts were
presented by Leona 4thrstroeg
Marion Young, Everdina Exel, and
Jean McFarlane.
After opening her gifts the bride
mad e a fitting reply and a delicious
lunch was served by the hank girls.

Comunity Hall, in honour of My. and
Mrs. Keith McLennan, (nee Mar-
jarie Petteplace) an their recent
marrilage. ,

to the platform and an address was
read by Miss Wilma Johnston, The
presentation of a gift of money was
made by Ronnie McFarlane.

three-point charge follows an, assist-
ant curacy in S. George's Anglican
Church, Walkeeylille.

ST. JOHN'S LADIES GUILD
The regular meeting of St. John's
Ladies Guild was held Sept, 11th
at 8,15 qtri, the parieh hall with 15
members present,
The mecesdieg opened with a hymn
Rev. Jaggs led t prayer followed by
the Lords. Prayer in unison. Mrs,
Marie Davis read the scripture
The dues and sunshine fund were
received. Mrs. L. of told the
history of several of our best loved
hymns.
The preslident. Mrls, Pat Davis
conducted the business.
The Annual Bazaar will be held
NOV. 15th in the library, It wee
decided to have a cleaning bee the
following week also a sewing meet-
ing on Thursday, Sept, 18th.
The meeting closed with a hymn,
and a closing prayer given by the
Rein. Jane.
A social half hour followed and
lunch was served by the hostess.

which Mrs. C. Backer led :in prayer,

Miss N. Jardine.; treasurer's report
by Mrs. J. Yuill in the absence of
Mrs. Amy Speir, ,The 'president on
behalf of the meeting very warmly
welcomed Mrs. Greene to our midst.
Many interesting current events
were given by Mrs. W. A. Williams.
