MRS. EMILY E. Parr

1st. of the death of Mrs. Emily- B.
Parr, eldest daughter .of Richard T.
Hin:gston and his wife Harriet Hay-
'croft of Brussels and widow of the
late FL J. Parr of Harding Manitoba.
Funenal service was held in the
United Church of which. Mrs. Parr
was a member and interment .in
Greenwood Cemetery of Harctng,
Rev. Arinistead of Kenton conducted
the service assisted by Rev. Colpitts
of Carberry, Man. Bearers, were,
neighbors: Clifford Scott, E. English,
Clarence Bell, prank Breed, Silo,
Besterd and R McTaggart,
Mrs, Harding was an old timer of
the Harding district, coming west
from Brussels, Ont. in 1891, She re-
sided in the District Until 1943,
when she returned to Brussels. Ont,
In 1953 she returned to the Wesit
visiting in Winnipeg at the home of
hersons. J. R. H. Parr of Camara,. St.,
and the late W. B. Parr of Claire
Ave, In July 1953 -she went to Somme
Seek.
Mrs. Parr was, an ardent church.
and comMunity worker, first with
the Methodist and later with the
United churn -and was a Life Merii-
ber of the W, M. S. of Harding
„United Church,
She is survived by one son, J. R.
H. Parr of Winnipeg, and one daugh-
ter, Mrs. IL R. Harris of Somme,
,Sask., six grandchildren, one sister,
Carrie Kingston, Brussels, Oat, and
one brother, Charles Hingston, of
Toronto, Ontario.

St. JOhn's Guild met in the church
basement, Wednesday evening, Oct
19, with a- good attendance, Rev,
EllislOpened the meeting with pray
er followed, with a reading from the
book of St, John Chapter 10. TJ6,3
secretary's and treasurer's reports
were read. The Canvas for donations
instead of fowl was- a huge success.
Pat Davis moved we Send a cheque
for $300 to the church wardens. Mrs.
Bnyans ,sedonided the motion, Rev.
Ellis Spoke briefly on Arch Deacon
Mills future visit to the church and
explained its purpose,
The Ladies 'Guild received an in-
vitation train the Walton - Ladies
Guild to attend, their meeting, Thur,;-
day, October .27th. at the home of
Mrs. Stewart Hum.phries.
Plans were made for the bazaar to
be held in the library ,Saturday, Nov,
12. .The -articles which have been
hh,nded in-were marked for the baz-
aar. Rev, Ellis stated that Sat. Oct,
31st. was Apple Day for the Boy
Scout grocup.
Rev. Ellis closed the meeting with
Prayer. May -Storey and Isaibeq
Alcock served the members a de-
licions lunch.
