Love Heather & Craig McDonald An organizational meet- ing of the Central Huron 4-H Snowmobile Club will be held at the Brucefield United Church on Tuesday, Decem- ber 29, 1981 at 8:00 p.m. The club is open to young people (both boys and girls) between the ages of 12 and 20 years as of January 1, 1982. Members in a 4-H Snow- mobile Club must have access to a snowmobile and will be required.to keep maintenance records on a snowmobile. We plan to have guest speakers discuss with the club mem- bers such topics as safety, rules of the road, clothing, Correspondent MRS. JOE WALKER 357-3558 The Women's Institute's family and consumer affairs meeting opened with a pot luck dinner set out by the lunch committee, Mrs. Wm. Peacock and Mrs. Robert Fraser. Mrs. Garniss opened the meeting with "A Christmas Thought". The roll call, an- swered by 19 members and 11 visitors, revealed some of the Christmas traditions in the ladies' homes. Common customs included - Christmas Eve church attendance, family reunions and of course good Christmas dinners. A Christmas sing-along was led by Mrs. Cecil Payne and Mrs. Carl Johnston. The guest speaker, Mrs. Matheson of College Corners demonstrated the making of a beautiful Christmas centre- piece created from evergreen boughs, silk flowers and ribbon which she later pre- sented to the W.I. and which was won by Mrs. Tom Dunn. The ladies' learned how to created decorations for their homes using cones, ribbons, corn husks and scrap mater- ial. Mrs. Matheson was thanked for her demonstra- tion by Mrs. Ken Simmons. Mrs. Charles Mathers re- ported the hall renovations are preceding quickly witjh are preceding quickly with the bathrooms usable by this week. Members are reminded to prepare their autobiography for the January meeting, Which will be held at the home of Mrs. Jim ArmStrong Jan, 13. The hostess, Mrs, Charles Mathers and the convenors,. Mrs. Wm. de Vas and Mrs: The students of Brussels Public School successfully collected $163.10 during the UNICEF drive. Students who collected were: Darwin Rose, Martha Boon, Paul Willie, Doug Higgins, Karla King, Char- lene Stephenson, Donna Johnston, Clinton Garniss, Cherida Garrifiss, Mark Pen- nington, Chris Graber, Kelly Bauer, Carolyn Young, Gus Protopapas, Kevin Tyerman, Bob Badley, Tim Dillow, Kim Smith, Doug Roesner, Kathy Graber, Ruth Wafts, Gary Martin, Daren Wood, Paul maintenance, etc. Club mem- bers may also plan trail rides and other social activities if they wish. Entertainment and re- freshments (pizzas) have been planned for this meet- ing. This meeting will count for attendance.
