The Ontario Provincial
Police Force wants you to
have a safe and happy Christ-
mas and New Year's Holiday.
Acting commissioner Jim
Erskine emphasizes that "al-
though OPP Officers will do

the attitude and thoughful-
ness of holiday drivers".
During December of last
year 94 people were slaugh-
tered needlessly in Ontario
traffic accidents, over 9,000
people' sUffered injuries and
thousands of cars were ren

There will be special pa-
.ols utilizing all available
quipment with particular
mphasis on alcohol consum-
ig drivers. A .L.E.R.T.• and
tdar devices will be used
ctensively.
It's a cold hard fact that the.
Ise of seat belts reduces"
leaths'and serious injury and
we strongly urge everyone to
'buckle up". Think of your
oved ones-tragedy can be

All OPP officers want the

ittle extra care and caution
