Vice-President, took charge
when the Majestic Women's
Institute met for their Novem-
ber meeting. She opened with
a, poem for Nov. 11.
It was decided to give a
donation to the C.N.I.B. Final
plans were made for the
Bazaar and Bake Sale.
The theme for this meeting
was Citizenship and World
Affairs, with Doris McCall
and Jane de Vries being
conveners. Doris read an

diabetes
meeting
About .50 people attend-
ed the local branch meeting of
the Canadian Diabetes Asso-
ciation held Thursday, No-
vember 19 in the Wingham
United Church.
The meeting was opened
by the Vice-President Isabel
Burke and the Christmas
selections were given on the
piano by Carol Campbell with
those attending singing
along.
The group's financial re-
port was given by the trea-
surer Carol Campbell.
Marjorie Cook reported on
the Annual Meeting of the
Ontario Division of CDA held
at Sault St. Marie this past
October 24th and 25th. She
and Isabel Burke had attend-
ed as branch representative.
A short film entitled
"Heart Sweet Heart" was
shown by Paula Blagrave and
enjoyed by all.
Those attending were di-
vided into five groups to
discuss several questions re-
garding what the members
thought the branch should be
providing for them, topics of
interest for future meetings
and how the members could
contribute to branch func-
tions.
Bob Perry the President,
outlined some of the commit-
tees that still need chairper-
sons in the branch to make it
work 'more effectively and
these included Public Rela-
tions, Camps and annual
March campaigns.
A door prize donated by

ham was won by Mr. Currie
Colwell of Luckirow,

Carol
Wheeler
receives
awards
Carol Wheeler, daughter
of George and Shirley Whee-
ler of R.R. 5, Brussels,
received her Diploma in the
Executive Secretarial Course
at the Lougheed Business
College in Kitchener on
Friday, November 20.
She also received awards
in shorthand and typing. She
placed second in typing for
all Canadian Colleges. Her
average for the year in 15
subjects was 91-93 per cent.
Carol was absent for the
graduation as she is employ-
ed in Labrador City, New-
foundland. Her awards were
accepted by her mother.
Goodall, a Wingham lawyer
who spoke on "Wills". This
proved most;interesting, and
ended with a question and
answer period.
Freda Pipe and. Alice
Brothers entertained on the
piano with some lively duets.
Next meeting-Dec. 9 at
12:30 p.m. which will begin
with a pot luck dinner.
