surgery in Victoria Hospital
in London.

patient in Westminister
Hospital, London.
BIBLE SOCIETY
The Gorrie and District
Canadian Bible Society can-
vas has netted $875.67. This

Jack Ferguson gave a talk
on "Remembrance", the

(children of the bomb).
Mrs. Alvin Mundell and
Mrs. Jack Ferguson sang two
duets, "Now -is the Hour"
and "When the Lights go on
is up $200 over last year's
collecting and is much appre-
ciated in making possible the
spreading of God's word
which is printed in so many
languages even in Canada as
well as throughout the world.

Mr. George Brown recited

We travelled to Alaska and
Yukon by plane, bus and
cruise ship guided by Everett
Sparkling, photographer and
his wife Beatrice, of Goder-
ich, the tour guide. It was an
interesting and informative
trip with spectacular mount-
ains and surprisingly beauti-
ful flowers. Mrs. Alex Taylor
thanked them and presented
a gift.

take quilting course

were in Kincardine one day
last week and visited the
former's sister Mrs. A. R.
Wells.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
McCallum of Wingham and
Mrs. Sheldon. Mann spent a
couple of days with relativeds
and friends at Gravenhurst
and Bracebridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin. Scott
visited Leander Lichty in St.
Marys Hospital in Kitchener
on Friday.
The Town Hall board's old
time dance on Friday
night was well attended
with Mann's Orchestra pro-
viding the music.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Grain-
ger, David and Steven of
Waterloo visited Mrs. Cecil
Grainger on Sunday and also
visited Mr. Cecil Grainger in
Listowel Memorial Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Burke
of Chatham, Mrs. Nettie
Hutchison and Mr. Stanley
Edgar of Molesworth visited
Saturday at the home of Mrs.
John Strong. Mrs. John Cur-
rie of Wingham R.R.3 spent
Sunday at the same home.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Un-
derwood and Alan Under-
wood of Newmarket visited
Wesley Underwood in St.
Jospeh's Hospital, London on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. John J.
Smith and family of Guelph
have purchased Mrs. Albert
Dustow's home and have
taken up residence.
QUILTING COURSE
Mrs. Norman Fairies,
leader, and Mrs. Jas. Gray,
assistant have conducted a
course on "Quilting Tech--
niques". It was held in the
Town Hall with approximate-
ly 27 ladies attending, with
completion of course on Tues-
day afternoon.
ST. STEPHEN'S GUILD
The November meeting
of the St. Stephen's Guild was
held at the home of Mrs. Ron
Bennett. President, Mrs.
Jasper Farrish opened the
meeting with prayer. She also
told us about wartime in
England and what it was like
for residents and soldiers to
be involved with war. She
recalled going to bed never
knowing whether you would
wake up in the morning or
not. We really have a lot to be
thankful for today. Mrs. Far-
rish also gave two Remem-
brance Day readings.
The roll call "Peace", was
answered by eighteen mem-
bers and two visitors.
The Guild Christmas Party
is December 9 at 7:30 p.m. at
the church and will include
husbands. A committee was
formed to let members know
what to bring. Each person is
to bring a $2. gift for a man or
woman and it is to be labelled
man or woman. Each person
is to pay $1.00 toward the cost
of the meat. Mrs. Harry
Zimmerman is making candy
bags for the Sunday SchooL
Candy Can be left in a box at
the church or given to Mrs..
Zimmerman. Shut-ins gifts
are to be brought to the Dec. 9
meeting.
