Sunday at Duff's United
Church,
Guest organist was Mr.
Floyd Herman. Ushers were
Mervin Smith, Laverne
Godkin and Bruce Godkin.
Conducting the worship
service was Martin Baan,
who gave a very interesting
story to the children, saying
we should count our bles-
sings, instead of our wants.
Several musical selections
were given through the
service by "The
Waltonians" consisting of ,
Marge Carswell, Ruth
Townsend, Bill and Grace
Campbell and Graeme Craig,
the men assisting with their
guitars. The choir was made
up men who sang, "Will your
anchor hold"? The scripture
lessons were read by Mr.
Roy Gingerich.
Doug Fraser introduced
the guest speaker, Dr. Betty
Bridgeman, a Medical
Missionary in Zaire, Africa.
She shared her experienced
with the people in African,
how they are trying to help
the needy. A special offering
was received to be equally
divided with the mission and
service fund and the World
Development Fund.
Neil McGavin gave thanks
to all the guests who had
contributed to the service
and to all those taking part.
Rev. Charles A. Swan closed
the service with the'
benediction. •
A short period of
Fellowship with the guests,
was enjoyed over sandwiches
and beverages in the church
basement.
The official board meeting
is scheduled for Sunday Nov.
8 at 8:00 p.m. On
Wednesday, November 11 a
special Armistice Day
Service will be held at Duffs
at 11 a.m. the Royal
Canadian Legion to be in
attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. Allan Searle
returned recently from a
holiday visiting with their
son-in-law and daughter, Jim
and Helen Duncan and
grandson, Corey of Russel,
Manitoba.
Mr. and Mrs. Rolly
Achilles visited on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry,
Achilles and family of
Bellw6od near Fergus.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Carter
and girls of R.R. 4, Clinton
visited on Sunday _at the
home of the latter patents,
Mr. and Mrs. William
Coutt' s.
Dr. Brian and Mrs.
Traviss, Allison and Leslie of
Waterloo visited on the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Herb Traviss.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Saunders, Royal Oak,
Michigan spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Allan
Searle. They were all supper
guests on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Huether and
John. Steven Huether of
Waterloo also spent the day
at his parent's home.
Mrs. Berva Watson and
her sister Edith accompanied
their brother Keith of
Windsor on a motor trip for a
week to Atlantic, Georgia.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nelson
and Robert of Vancouver
B.C. visited recently for a
few days with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Watson.

A bridal shower for Bar-
bara Keffer was held in the
Ethel United Church, on
Thursday evening last week.
The October meeting of the
Ethel- W.I. was held at the
home of Mrs. Cliff Bray. Mrs.
Stan Alexander showed
slides of their trip to Europe.
Mrs. Douglas Wardlaw ,is
a patient in Listowel hospita:.
Mr. Dick Davidson of
Regina, Sask., who has been
a patient in Wingham hos-
pital and London hospital for
about three weeks, was able
to return back 'home to
Regina on Monday morning
Oct. 26th by plane. His wife
went back the week before.
They are relatives of the
Raymonds.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis
and Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Davis, all of Lucan, Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne, Grube, Geo.
and Debbie visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Cliff Bray.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Bremner, Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Bremner and Doris
visited in Kitchener with Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Lawless
before they left for Arizona
for the winter.
Mrs. Isabel Pearson and
Mr. Bob Bremner, and. Mr.
Andrew Bremner were in
Shelburne this past week
owing to the death of their
cousin Frank Allan.
Mr. Robert Bremner, Mr.
and Mrs. Andrew Bremner
spent, last Thursday in
London and called at the
home of John and Joan
Morgan. -

Bremner and Doris visited
with Mrs. Mae Campbell in
Seaforth.
Mr. and Mrs. William B.
Doig of Listowel visited this
past week with Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Bremner.
