Sixteen members and one
visitor attended the meeting
of Melville Guild held in the
church parlour on October
20th.
Thanksgiving was the
theme of the meeting, and
was introduced by a poem on
Thankfulness for Blessings,
by Isabel Adams.
Kate Wilson offered pray-
er and then a meditation
asked "Why Thanksgiv-
ing?" As Isabel developed
the theme, we received the
answer. It is we who profit
from giving thanks. God is
not like an insecure person
who continually requires
praise to stay happy.
Janet McCutcheon's topic,
"Will You Leave A Legacy?"
left us feeling that there is
something more important to
leave our children than mon-
ey. We can help them to
develop good habits of Work,
Play, Love and Worship
