Rev. A. Young, Goderich,
was in charge of the regular
morning servie in Knox
Church on Oct. 18. There will
be no service I next Sunday,
Oct. 25 owing to Anniversary
services in Monkton Presby-
terian Church at 11 a.m. and E!
p.m.
The October Thankoffering
service of the W.M.S. was
held on Wednesday evening.
Oct. 14 in the church, with
guests present from Atwood
and Monkton W.M.S.
groups. Mrs. Wilfred Strick-
ler opened the meeting, wel-
coming all and reading a
poem on Thanksgiving. The
Hymn "0 Lord of Heaven,
and Earth and Sea" was
sung. Psalm 103 was read by
Mrs. Earl Dunn, followed by
a prayer. Misses Donna and
Arlene Boyd, Atwood, sang
the duet "He." Mrs. Stuart
Stevenson read several
poems, "We praise the, 0
God" was sung with Mrs:
Stewart Steiss pianist for the
evening.' The offering was
received by Mrs. Stevenson
and Mrs. Jim Hart and
dedicated by Mrs. Strickler.
Members were reminded
of the Fall Rally being held in
Cavan Church, Exeter on
October 28.
The guest speaker,
McDaniel Phillips of Wing-
ham, was introduced and
spoke on "Thanksgiving"
and What it means to be a
Chiistian,' The Boyd sisters
again entertained with a duet
"Freely." On special request
they repeated it with Mr.
Phillips assisting them. This
was much enjoyed by all. The
Mizpah benediction was re-
peated in closing. A social
time followed in the church
basement when refreshments
were served by the-committee
in charge.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan McTa•
ggart, Goderich, attendee,
this 125th anniversary of
Grey Twp. on Saturday even-
ing, Oct. 10th and visited
after with Mr. , and Mrs.
Leslie Knight and boys.
Thanksgiving weekend vis-
itors with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Smith and family were Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Dennis 'and
family t of Cobourg.
Sharon and Tracy Engel,
London, and Rosanne, Kitch-
ener, attended the Grey
Township anniversary and
spent Thanksgiving, at their
home here.
Mrs. Mary Bird, Goderich t
and Mrs. Grace Evans, Clin-
ton, visited Mrs. Earl Dunn
and called on former friends
in the community on Wednes-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Cooper,
Ottawa, and Harold • Small,
don, Brussels visited Mrs.
MacEngel on Thursday.
Mrs. Donna Delaere, of
Faro, Yukon, visited with her
cousin Mrs. Gordon Engel on
Wednesday and Friday. They
visited on Friday with rela-
tives and friends in Wing-
ham, Belgrave and Blyth.
Mrs. Betty Hirzel and
Holly Fraser, Mich. were
here on Saturciay,
