With school back in full
swing, the residents will
certainly miss seeing our stu=
dent volunteers on a daily
basis. These volunteers gen-
erate an aura of enthusiasm
and warmth, as only young
people can.
With summer pretty well
behind us, we are once again
concentrating on indoor acti-
vities. The August bowling
champs were Charles Buck
and Mrs. Pearl Wheeler.
Frank Dunn and Km. Elsie
Shaw won the bingo trophies
for the month.
On the 23rd, the Brussels
Mennonite Choir was here to
inspire our residents with
many lovely hymns. The
Brussels Mennonite Fellow-
ship were on hand on the 28th
for their monthly Bible Study
program.
Our August Birthday Party
was hosted by the Anglican
Church ladies who helped
Mrs. Cora Gibson celebrate
her special day. Chrissy Dil-
low played the piano and then
Marg Dillow presented a
humorous reading about' the
old out-house." After Tracey
Finch played the piano nu-
mber, Esther, Lori and
Michelle McCutcheon sang
some songs for the residents.
After singing Happy Birthday
to Cora, the ladies served
fruit loaf and cheese pieces to
everyone. The afternoon was
enjoyed by all who attended.
