District Hospital on Saturday, Sept- ember 26 following a brief illness. She was born in Cooper's Falls, Ontario, a daughter of the late Rebecca and Alfred Cooper and was married to Harry Cook at Belgrave in May of 1917. He died in 1978, She was a member of the United Church and Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are four daugh- ters, Mrs. Sheldon (Velma) Jacklin of R.R. 2, Bluevale; Mrs. Harold (Irma) Slesser of R.R. 1, Tiverton; Mrs. Jack (Audrey) Lewis of Wingham; Mrs. David (Freda) Kirkby of British Columbia and three sons, Donald of -Wingham, Graham of Ripley and. Austin of Oakville. She was prede- ceased by two children, a daughter Yvonne and a son Lloyd. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cook of Belgrave, and Mrs. Grace Cook of Goderich and two brothers, Frank Cooper of R.R. 1, Belgrave and Arnold Vincent, Goderich. Twenty- seven grandchildren and sev- eral great grandchildren also survive. Funeralservices were held on Tuesday, September 29 at 2 p.m. from the Currie- Walker Funeral Home in Wingham with Rev. Arnold Proud of Teeswater officiat- ing. Burial followed in Blyth Union Cemetery. • Pallbearers were six grand- sons Rodney White, Robert White, Cameron Cook, Kevin Cook, Gary Cook and Bradley Lewis, Flowerbearers were six granddaughters, Elaine Goessel, Patricia Cook, Len- ore Dickson, Muriel Gibson, Cindy Laskis and Gloria Keet, L.E. STRACHAN Laidlaw Elgin Strachan, 59, of Cambridge died Wed- nesday, September 9, at Cambridge Memorial Hos- pital. He was born in Craigmile, Alberta, a son of the late Howard Strachan and former Adeline Ronnenberg of Cambridge. Surviving is his wife, the former Elizabeth Constable, a son Wayne of Cambridge and a daughter linda (Mrs. Gary Desbor- ough) of 'Charlottetown, P.E.I. He moved to Cambridge in 1969 from Summerside, P.E.I. A veteran of the Second World War, he retir- ed from the R.C.A.F. in 1969. Funeral services were held from the Barthel-Stager Funeral home, Cambridge with burial at Cambridge Memory Gardens. A memor- ial service under the Auspi- des of the Preston Canadian Legion was held on Friday evening. Cousins of the late Mr. Strachan are Marie Turnbull, Marie McTaggart, Murray Huether and Isabel Huether of Brussels, Dorothy Miller of Stratford and Evelyn Evans of Kitchener. GEO. H. CAMPBELL George H. Campbell of Seaforth, formerly of List°n vie', died at his residence on Saturday, October 3, He was born February 1, 1901 in Grey Township, a son of the late Ivie Campbell and the former Mary Laird and lived most of his life in listowel.
