The 4:00 p.m. ceremony took place in a setting of cand elabra of lighted tapers and pink and white mums. Rev. Eric LeDrew officiated. Wedding music by organist Brian Armstrong of Brussels and soloist Jane White of Teeswater included "Hawaiian. Wedding Songs, Wedding Prayer, and These Are the Best Times." The bride if the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schuler of R.R. 3, Teeswater, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Max Demaray of R.R. 2 Bluevale are parents of the groom. ••• The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Ruth Boonstra as maid on honor and her sister Debbie Schuler and the groom's sister, Debbie Seili, bridesmaids and flower girl Jacquie Seili, niece of the groom. Groomsman was Ran Deitner. Guests were ushered by Rick and Dave Demaray, brothers of the groom and friend Bruce Armstrong. Following dinner served at the church a reception was held at the Teeswater Complex. ALLAN McCALL 887-6677 Mrs. Delmar Smythe of Stratford was guest speaker for the resolutions meeting of the Walton Women's Insti- tute, held at the home of Mrs. Bill Humphries on Wednes- day evening, September 16. Mrs. Keith Rock presided for the business. Mrs. Lavern Godkin was pianist for the opening ode, Mary Stewart Collect was repeated in uni- son, then 0 Canada was sung. There were 20 mem- bers and 2 guests present. Minutes were read by Mar- jorie Humphries. The Roll call was answered by: "Something that needs to be done to improve our commun- ity. Marjorie thanked Marion Godkin and Ruth Axtmann for their display of five Christmas items at the Brus- sels Fair which was also on display at the meeting. A letter was read in regards to the Bursary Fund. There will be a Po t Luck supper at the Calender Nursing Home in Brussels on October 5 at 6 p.m. Mrs. Margaret Craig will be the voting delegate to attend the Area Convention in Brussels at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre on October 22-23 when Yvonne Ballagh, Wing- ham will be guest speaker. Anyone that will billet ladies should let Marjorie know as soon as -possible. Mrs. Al- berta Hudie will try and get someone to go with her to the Senior training school for the quilt course. Delegates to the Rally, October 5 at Belgrave will be, Viola Kirkby and Margaret Shortreed. It will be a pooled lunch. The Home and Coun- organize a bus trip to the Lee Home, December 2nd or 3rd, if enough interest is shown throughout the district. A pot luck lunch was enjoyed at noon. Euchre will begin for the season on Tuesday evening October 6 with a committee picked of Margery Huether, Margaret Shortreed and Ber- va Watson. Mrs. Viola Kirkby read an article on "Ten Command- ments of Good Human Rela- tions. How to get along with people. Mrs. Vera McDonald gave a worthwhile Motto on: "Indifference is the rust that corrodes civilization" Marjorie Humphries intro- duced the guest speaker Mrs. Smythe District President of Perth Center and is area P.R.O. She gave an interest- ing view on Resolutions clos- ing with poems. - "Leisure" and "September" Vera Mc Donald thanked the speaker and presented her with an envelope of money on behalf of the Institute, Viola Kirkby closed with a poem "People are younger than they used to be." The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Graeme Craig. Refreshments were served by Marjory Rock, Alberta Hudie and Paulene Bennett. ANNIVERSARY Duff's United Church celebrated its Anniversary Service on Sunday morning Elva Wilbee was Organist. Ushers were Allan Searle, Walter Bewley and Jack McEwing. Rev. Charles A. Swan conducted the service. Guest soloist Gloria Hart contributed two solos during the service entitled, "Amaz- ing Grace" and "To God be the Glory", The choir anthem was "My faith looks up to Thee". Scripture readings were read by Bruce Mc Donald from Genseis and Hebrews. Graeme Craig presented the speaker Murray Gaunt who took as his sermon, "Faith what is means to a layman." Murray Cardiff M.P. and Murray Elston M.P.P. both brought greet- ings. Marie McGavin gave a few words of thanks to everyone who took part in the service Annie Reid gave a historial sketch of the church with its roots going back to the Presbyterian Church which was built in 1869. THE BRUSSELS POST, SEPTEMBER 23, 1981 A5 Walton WI hears Mrs. Smythe Mrs. Elmer Harding of the Fordwich Women's Institute presided at the East Huron District Executive meeting on Monday, Sept. 14 in the home of Mrs. Bert Garniss of the Bluevale W.I. The secretary-treasurer, Mrs. James McMahan, of the Ethel, W.I. reported a better bank balance, thanks to the eleven branches of the dis- trict. Each branch was re- minded that a donation will be expected again by March 1982: Plans were finalized for the 42nd Annual Women's Insti- WI convention in Brussels Mrs. Norman Coughlin, Atwood, Area Board Director outlined the proper wearing of W.I. pins and answered many questions during the meeting about area and dis- trict work. At the close of the service everyone was invited to the basement for a fellowship hour when the U.C.W. ladies served a smorgasbord lunch. Many former members were back to this special occasion. PERSONALS Congratulations to Donna Godkin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Godkin who has obtained First Class Honors when she tried her Grade 4 piano exam in Stratford re- cently.
