view choir at the Sunday
morning service. Sunday
evening Hymn Sing was held.
We much appre-
ciate the invitation extended
to us by Mr. Lorne Brown for
the generous offer of free
ad mittance to the Drive-In
and a special treat during the
show. We had to decline due
to the poor weather
Mrs. Prouty held Bible
Study in the chapel on Thurs-
day afternoon and also on
Thursday three car loads of
Residents journeyed to Blyth
to see He Won't Come In
From The Barn. Residents
who viewed the show are Al

creation" was the hymn
which opened the Sept. 2
meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society of Knox
Presbyterian Church, at the
home of Mrs. Gordon Mun-
dell.
Mrs. Beryl Kirton chose
scripture from St. John, read-
ing Chapter 18, verses 33-40.
Mrs. Terrance Trites gave the
comments with prayer by
Mrs. Kirton.
Eight ladies answered the
roll call, mentioning a verse
pertaining to harvest.
The treasurer's report was
given, the offering received,
with prayer by Mrs. Golley.
Business included, An in-
vitation to the Fall Rally in St.
Andrews in Wingham, Sept.
29: - A letter from the Leprosy
mission, Topic Book Discus-
sion, Fall Thank offering
planned and also the church
service of Oct. 18 when the
W, M. S. will tell the congreg-
ation of our work with miss-
ions.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley
enjoyed a three week motor
trip to Saskatchewan, return-
ing home on Thursday, Sept.
3. They visited friends at
Watson, Spalding, Rosetown
Outlook and Lannigan,
charge of the topic, "Mission
Is". She told of some of the
problems in South Africa
where the white people have
everything. Black people are
trash. To speak to a black
person would be breaking the
law.
Jesus said, "If we lose our
lives we will gain it." C hris-
tianity is not in the church,
but in the people. They
should love one another.
A short quiz followed, with
a summary of what mission
is, some of the answers
being teaching, loving,
working for Christ and help-
ing others.
Mrs. Golley thanked our
hostess for her hospitality.
Mrs. Kirton and Mrs.
Mundell served lunch.
Among those they visited
were Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Curtis (the former Mary
Recker) who operated the
Cranbrook store.
Mr, and Mrs. Wilfred
ler returned on Friday from a
three week camping holiday,
travelling the northern -route
in Northern Ontario,
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Knight
took their daughter, Mary
Ellen to Moose\ Factory
where she will be teaching
for the coming term. They
were accompanied by Mr.
and Mrs. Murray Huether,
Brussels, and drove to Coch-
rane, by train to Moosenee,
then cane to Moose Factory
Island, They also had a boat
trip up into James Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. John Vanass
and family spent a few days
last week at Bracebridge.
Visiting Mrs, Ida Gordon
recently was Mrs. Reta Nix-
on, London, Mrs, Alma
IVfiniely, Lambeth, and Frank
Hunter, Oshawa,
Mr. Joe Petri, Miss Lois
Pettis and Mr. Dave McGreg•

Mrs. Dadswell, Harriston
and Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Murray, Windsor visited Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, and
family last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Work-
man and boys spent several
days in the Collingwood
'area.
Mrs. Betty Hirzel and
daughter Holly, Fraser,
Mich. John Platz, Detroit,
and his nephew Otto Gensh-
eimer, Offenbach, Germany,
spent the holiday weekend
here.
