Correction
If you thought Mr. and
Mrs. George Pearson had
changed their appearance
quite a bit judging from last
week's Brussels Post, it
could be because you were
looking at a picture of Willis
and Barb Knight.
A film was brought in of
the Lion's Elimination Draw
and the assumption was
made that because the
Knights' picture appeared on
the film that they were the
big winners--the Pearsons.
Actually the Knights won the
third prize of $250.
The Post apologizes for
this error and any inconven-
ience caused by it.
the parade, accord-
ing to organizers. The parade
lines up at the ball park in
Ethel.
Saturday at 1 p.m. in the
same ball park Ethel girls
will play Cranbrook girls in
exhibition baseball. At 2
p.m. it's the Cranbrook boys
vs. Ethel boys. Both events
are for ball players aged from
9 to 16 years old. Trophies
will be awarded.
There'll be an admission of
50 cents each for those six
and up to help pay for some
of the kids' activities. Later
in the afternoon, there'll be a
horseshoe game, a hay ride,
pony rides and games for all
ages.
In case of rain, all the park
events will postponed a week
to Sept. 19.
Net farm
income down
Statistics Canada says the
1980 net income to farming
operation was $3.04 billion, a
decline of $572 million or 15.8
percent from 1979 levels. The'
main factors contributing to
the lower net income include
record high operating ex-
penses, lower livestock
prices, reduced yields and
drawdown of inventory as
producers attempted to main-
tain cash flow.
