of Wingham, and Ernest Vanderschot of St.
Marys.
Mr. Young said the split grid was for the
benefit of the board and he commended the
teachers for having a keen interest in having
the board stay within their budget. "We will
be right on budget by the end of December
with the five per cent: I would have liked to
have given more to the teachers."
There are 132 full time equivalent
teachers in the system.

Leaders needed
I "Which Came First?
Was it the Chicken or the
Egg?" That's an age-old
question and I don't know if
we can find the answer
"eggs"actly, but we'll have
slot of fun with this fall's 4-H
project.
It will be an "egg"cellent
opportunity for members to
sharpen skills in buyman-
ship , cooking techniques,
good nutrition, safe food
handling practices and en-
tertaining. •
We're certain that it will
be "egg"citing. Have you
ever deboned a chicken?
,Have you ever made a
souffle? baked alaska? a
quiche?
Do you know the four
functions of eggs? Do you
know how to calculate the
quality of chicken needed for
a recipe when purchasing?
In order for this project to
be a success, we need
leaders to pass this informat-
ion on to the members.
Workshops for leaders will
be held to provide guidance
and background for teaching
the lessons. Usually, there
are two .leaders per club.
Both leaders should plan
to attend both days . of the
iworkshop most convenient
for them in order to receive
leadership credit. The Ontar-
io Ministry of Agriculture
and Food will provide a
leaders' luncheon at noon on
the first day of the workshop
in each location. When filling
in the enclosed application,
be sure to indicate the
' number planning to attend
the luncheon.
All you require to be a
'leader is to have an interest
in helping young people
develop, a desire to learn
new things and club mem-
bers to work with.
Club members are of age
