Mr. and Mrs. Ken Short-
reed. and family and Mrs.
Isabelle Shortreed have been
vacationing in the north
country with stops at camp
sites at Collingwood, Hunts-
ville, Kirkland Lake and
Cochrane where they board-
ed the polar express for an
interesting rail excursion to
the tide waters of James Bay
at Moosenee and where they
were take, n by canoe to
Moose 'Factory, a small is-
land in the district. Isabelle
returned home Saturday by
bus from Towasan, Ken and
family remained camping for
another few days.
The family of Mr. and
Mrs. Roily Achilles enter-
tained their parents on Satur-
day evening at a restaurant
in Seaforth on the occasion of
their 45th Wedding Anniver-
sary. Those attending the
dinner. were Bill and lvtarg.

Many people take to the
road in the summer, and one
of them is Chris Cooper, 22,
who is bicycling from Port
uron to Tobermory with
Brussels one of his stops
along the way .
Chris, who • came from
Walled Lake, Michigan got a
ride to Port Huron and then
started from there.

Guests were present from
Londesboro and Seaforth on
Wednesday evening July 15
for the Tweedsmuir meeting
of the Walton Women's In-
stitute at the community hall.
The President welcomed
everyone. Mrs. H. Traviss
was pianist. Minutes of the
June meeting were approved
as read by Mrs. B. Humphr-
ies.
Roll call was answered by
"A Memory of Grandma"
and each member was to
bring a picture for the Tweed-
smuir' :History Book. • Mi's.
Humphries gave an encour-,
aging-treasurer's report. The
Institute did well at the booth
at Mrs. Broadfoot's sale last
Saturday.
A good report was given
from the Dessert Euchre held
in the hall recently. Mrs.
Graeme Craig reported on
the car trip to Grand Bend for
the August meeting. It was
decided to leave from the hall

ty. The society was formed in
1964 at a meeting in the
council chambers 'of the
Court House, Goderich. Mrs.
B. Humphries thanked Mrs.
Poth and presented her with
mornings, usually 8:30 and
rode about 80 miles a day.

couple of changes of clothing,
maps and a few other sup-
