Mrs. Anderson conducted
a memory contest, then in-
troduced Mrs. Janice Mathe-
son, who demonstrated mak-
ing a wall hanging from dried
materials and silk flowers.
Mrs. Anderson thanked
Janice and presented her
with a gift.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
James Hunter and Mrs. Earl
Anderson.
PERSONAL
Recen tly friends, relat-
ives and neighbours have
attended two showers in the
Women's Institute Hall, one,
the evening of Tuesday, June
9th in honour of Gail Pid-
geon, the second on Friday,
June 19th for Brenda Johns-
ton.
A program of contests,
readings and musical num-
bers were enjoyed.
Each of the girls was the
recipient of m an 1 y useful
and bealitiful gifts along with
the best wishes of all.
Refreshments were served
by the ladies.
A surprise party was held
at the Belgrave Institute Hall
on Saturday evening when 80
friends, relatives and neigh-
bours gathered to honour
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wight-
man who have recently mov-
ed from the sixth line of East
Wawanosh to their home in
Brucefield.

The Family and.
Consumer Affairs meeting of
the Belgrave. Women's Ins-
titute was held in the W, I.
Hall on Tuesday evening,
with the 4-H girls, their
leaders and mothers as
guests. The president Mrs.
Ross. Higgins, opened the
meeting.Minutes of the Fin-
ancial Statement and the
Correspondence were read
by Mrs. James Hunter.
An invitation was received
from the Goderich branch to
attend their 80th anniversary
on June 24 at MacKay Cen-
tre.
A donation will be made to
the Salvation Army appeal.
The upcoming 4-H clubs and
adult workshops were an-
nounced. Mrs. Clare Van
Camp gave a report of the
Officer's Conference held at
Waterloo University in May
and Mrs. Leonard James
gave a report of the District
Annual held in St. Helens.
The W. I. will be catering
to the Blyth Festival Suppers
on July 10 and August 7 and
will be sponsoring a bus trip
to the Agricultural Museum
at Milton on August 5.
It was decided to give a
gift to the girl who wins the
Centennial Queen contest in
Morris. The Roll Call was
"Something I missed by not
being a 4-H member."
The meeting was turned
over to the program conven-

spoke on the motto "Learn to
do by doing" and explained
the meaning of the 4-H pled-

reunion was held on June 21,
at the community hall, Lon-
desboro, with 70 signing the
register.
Ella and Linda Ives of
Blyth were in charge of the
sports which were enjoyed by
all.
Guests were present from
Edmonton, Alberta, Nether-
hill, Sask. Kindersley, Sask.,
Niagara Falls, Burlington,
Hamilton, Chatham, Sarnia,
Kitchener, Goderich, Clin-
ton, Lucknow, Teeswatet,
Auburn, Londesboro and
surrounding district.
Following the supper hour
the president, Alvin Gal-
lagher of Kitchener, took
charge of the meeting.
He announced the deaths
during the past year, Stella
Nethery olr Belgrave, Her-
man Nethery of Blyth, Mrs.
Lloyd Hollingsworth of Rich-
ards Landing, Ont., Mrs.
Glenn Gallagher of Clive,
Alberta, and Ronald Van
Camp of Guelph, and a few
minutes silence followed in
remembrance.
Special prizes were given
out by Alvin Gallagher of
Kitchener to the oldest per-
son Abner Nethery of Pine-
Nethery reunion held

Lucknow, youngest person
present, Alicia Potter daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian
Potter of R.R.3, Clinton,
person coming the longest

married thirty-five years this
year, Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Nethery of Burlington, to the
lady wearing green ear rings,
Mrs. Alvin Gallagher of
Kitchener, to the man wear-
ing a yellow shirt, Brian
Potter, to the Father who had
the most children at the
reunion Wm. Alex Neth-
ery of R.R. 4 Brussels.
The "Who Am I?" contest
was won by Mrs. Mary Wade
of Wingham; guessing the
number of candies in a jar
was Mary Isabel Nethery of
Belgrave and the lucky plate
was won by Marlene Walsh
of Sarnia.
A treat of watermelon was
given to all present by Alex
Nethery of Burlington.

Belgrave WI hosts 4-Hers.
The evening was spent in
playing cards, readings by
Mrs. Garner Nicholson and
Clifford Coultes and violin
selections by Harvey Mc-
Dowell of Blyth, accompanied
by Mrs. .George Johnston,
were enjoyed by all.
Mrs. Walter Scott read the
address and gifts' were pre-
sented by Bill, ‘FitiOni and
Gordon Smith,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack, Mali
and Taylor of R.R.S`Holyrood
spent the week-end in, Wind-
sor and attended the wed-
ding Wiltshire-Perko at Cot-
tam. , Mrs. Lawrence Taylor
accompanied them and visit-
ed with Mrs, Ruth Coyne and
Mr. and MrS. Ron Kirkham v
and Ken of Windsor.

Stratford, Mr. Robert Cola,

Home, Wingham, Mr. and
Mrs. Mark Matheson of
Molesworth were Father'S
Day guests with. Mr. and
Mrs. William Coultes and

Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Edgar Wightman.
Quite a number of Bel-
grave people enjoyed a bus
trip to the Lion's Safari at
Rockton last Wednesday.
Sheila and Doreen Ander-
son visited for a few days this
past week with Mr. and Mrs.
Rick Ball of Hanover,
Mr. Harold Keating enjoy-
ed a five day bus trip on the
Pennsylvania Dutch Tour.
They visited the Corning
Glass Factory, the Amish.
Country and Hershey's Cho-
colate factory.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Johnston of Belgrave and
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnston
of Bluevale attended the
Speiran Reunion in Mitchell
on Sunday.
Relatives attending were
from Toronto,Ethel, Hamil-
ton, London, St. Thomas, St.
Marys, Monkton, Goderich,
Bluevale and Belgrave.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coultes
attended the 29th annual
Muskoka United Church
Men's Conference at the
Delaware Inn s Honey. Har-
bour recently. More than
300 men and women were
encouraged by the theme
speaker Rev. Robert Smith of
Toronto to discover "A
Working Faith," and to put it
into action in their local
communities.
Rev. Robert C. Plant and.
Nancy Hardy also of Toronto
and from the Division of
Connunication of the United
Church,. spoke of their work
in the mission fields and
explained the use of the
Mission and Service Fund.
Saturday evening the
group was entertained by
The Torchrnen with their
gosp. el .singing program.
The sessions closed with
communion on Sunday morn-
ing.
