Good steers-78.00 to 80.00 Two steers consigned by John Armstrong of Ethel averaging 1235 lbs. sold for 85.60 with his 24 steers averaging 1163 lbs. selling for an overall price of 82.00. A steer consigned by Ross Osborne of Monkton weigh- ing 1140 lbs. sold for 83.75 with his 20 steers averaging 1225 lbs. selling for an overall price of 82.80. Four steers consigned by Maple Emblem Farms of Dungannon averaging 1247 lbs. sold for 82,75 with their load of 40 steers averaging 1225 lbs. selling for an overall price of 81.65. Those riding on our float had a good waving to all the familiar faces they saw on the parade route. Luckily the deer did not catch our driver una- wares and we had no unfor- tunate incidents. Although it rained on Wednesday' we went riding again in the afternoon, and viewed some of the back roads into Auburn. Residents in Special Care and First North enjoyed the outings. Residents Council held their meeting in the chapel on Thursday morning. Cards were played in the new auditorium this week and we had a good atten- dance of residents. Sympathy is expressed to the family of Myrtle Huller. Huronview would like to welcome Orby Kestle from Exeter who is now living on Men's Bed Care. Also Miss Florence Laidlaw from Seaforth who is living on Ground North. La Leche League of Bel- grave began a new series at the home of Mrs. C. Schenk, Wingham. The topic of dis- cussion was "Advantages of Breastfeeding to Mother and Baby". The mothers explain- ed why they had originally decided to breastfeed the next baby. Among the many reasons mentioned were bonding, allergies, and sup- port of husbands. Using popular advertisement slo- gans, further benefits to mother, baby, and father were found and explained by Mrs. B. Kerr, Leader. It was announced that Margaret Bennett-Alder, Director of Leaders for Can- ada has been elected to the LLLI Board of Directors. Just a few of the outstanding accomplishments of LLL of Canada during her term of office include: a most sue cessful cooperative effort be- tween LLL of Canada and the Canadian Department of National Health and Welfare to promote breastfeeding, and a truly memorable Inter- national Conference in Tor- ontod (1977). Margaret was presented with the Lifestyle Award in 1979 by the Min- ister of Canadian Health and Welfare for "outstanding work on behalf of infant health and emotional secur- ity." The new Director of Leaders will be Pauline Le- Blanc, New Brunswick. Following the discussion, MrS. Kerr presented a certif- icate of appreciation to Mrs. L. Martin for her assistance at- the mother's meeting. Mrs. W. Neufeld, Librarian, added "Your Child's Self- Esteetn" to the library, do- nated by Mrs. P. Margaret Patterson of Toronto is visiting with Lyle and Alice Brothers for the weekend. Bowling Lawn Bowling at the Greens opened Friday May 23. The first Jitney was held May 25 at 7:00 p.m. with ideal conditions. Beginners and new mem- bers are Mtli lily welcome Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. La Leche League Ross and Betty Knight recently attended the funeral of his cousin Dorothy (Sholdice) Hollister at Thorn- hill. Dorothy was the daugh- ter of the late Earl and Ruby Sholdice who were residents of Walton a number of years ago, She was in her 53rd year. She is survived by her husband, William and two daughters, Also one sister, Helen, Mrs, Ralph MacEach - ern of Thornhill.
