Legion Ladies mark
35th anniversary
LONG TIME MEMBERS AND THE EXECUTIVE — Members of the
Brussels Legion Ladies Auxiliary got together for a celebration of the
auxiliary's 35th anniversary on Wednesday night and afterwards the
executive and members who were awarded 30 and 35 year pins got
together for a picture. In the front row from left are Kitty Rutledge,Verna
Tunney, Kay Duncan, Bertha Elliott, and Joan Miller - President. In the

The Brussels Legion
Ladies Auxiliary held its 35th
birthday party in the Legion
auditorium on April 15. Pres-
ident Miller opened the pro-
gram and Pres. Ted Elliott
welcomed all comrades and
guests to the. birthday party,
wishing the group many
more successful years:
Comrades Duncan, Verna
Tunney-, ,Kitty Rutledge and
Bev Elliott were presented
with their 35 yr. pins. Absent

The ministry of Intergov-
ernmental affairs has an-
nounced that this program
will again be offered to
prospective employers. This
program is designed to help
farm employers by paying a
$1.25 per hour subsidy to a
qualifying youth who is em-
ployed by the farmer.
Mr. and Mrs. Fear
married 45 years
The family of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Fear entertained
their parents to a dinner at
the Turnberry Tavern on
Saturday evening, April 11 in
honour of their 45th wedding
anniversary with 31 mem-
bers of the families attend-
ing. After the dinner, friends
and relatives gathered at the
W.I. Hall, Belgrave where
progressive euchre was play-
ed. Following the euchre a
smorgasbord lunch was
served by the family.

A 30 yr. pin was presented
to Comrade Doreen Rut-
ledge. Absent were Com-
rades Jean Alcock, Mary

and Brussels auxiliaries all '
brought items of entertain-
ment to liven up the evening.
