Tender for Foresters - Hall .-Kinburn
Tenders are invited by the Canadian Foresters for
the construction of a frame hall 40'x60' on a concrete
wall with a concrete floor. Hall to be insulated and
drywalled with inside, framing for washrooms,
kitchen and storage facilities.
Successful tenderer to be agreeable to work along
with sub-contractors to be arranged by Foresters
building committee.

Monday, March 30 was the
annual meeting for the
Ladies Afternoon Curling
Club. It all started with a Pot
Luck Dinner-- and such a
wide variety of delicious
nutritious food, it was hard to
choose.
Accompanying the meal
was a good selection of wine
to suit everyone's taste.
Even a Frenchman would get
satisfaction.
Following dinner the new
executive were installed for
the 1981-82 season as
follows:

Kendra Krauter thanked
Rosemarie Bishop for her
babysitting services this
past season. Babysitting ser-
vices helped the club to
expand by allowing new curl-
ers with small children to
join. Rosemarie had 20 chil-
dren on the last day, due to
school holidays.
The Scott Trophy was won
by Nora Stephenson's team
on the January draw with
491/4 points. Her vice was
Darlene Oldfield, Second-
Marg. Dillow and Lead: Jean
Bridge. The Scott. Trophy
was by Walter Scott in
Winnipeg in 1891. It was
given to Hugh and. Donelda:
They donated it to the Brus-
sels Ladies Curling Club in
1975. Each year the Ladies'
team with the highest points
win the trophy and have their
names engraved on it. It was
McCALL: Ross and. Fran are
pleased to announce the
birth of their daughter, Leisa
Danene, 61b. 11 oz, on April
2, 1981 at Listowel Memorial
Hospital. Proud grand-

speaker at the Ladies Annual
Meeting. He spoke on the
possibility of, a new curling
-rink in Brussels.
Marg Dillow suggested a
housecleaning bee for the
kitchen area upstairs. Any-
on, interested in helping
wa„, to meet Monday, April
61i. armed with sufficient
cleaning supplies and elbow
grease, (eight ladies came)
Marg also queried the
Club's rule for . dues for
non-members who ' spare,
Nothing was decided at this
time due to the absence of
the secretary's notebooks "
and Darlene Oldfield.
The Ladies agreed to give
a donation this year to the ice
makers. They give their time
free expecting nothing '= it
return.
It was also agreed to
purchase a floral centerpiece
for the head table at the
Annual Banquet on April
4th. A draw would be made
for it after the banquet. (It
was won by Bob Richmond),
The left-over perishable
kitchen supplies were auc-
tioned off with a bit of fun by
auctioneers Kendra and
Marg. THe proceeds (6.68)
went back into the Club's
treasury.
The meeting ended with
new prosident. Yvonne
Knight thinking Kendra
Krauter for her successful
two years as President.
There was a good crowd at
the dance following the an-
nual banquet.. Let's hope the
interest shown at the curling
dance will show an increase
in the membership next Win-
ter at the curling club here in
Brussels. Lincoln Green from
Strathroy supplied the
music.
