Brussels won he game 2-1 which put Smithville out. Scoring for Brussels was Darrin Watts unassisted with Kevin MeArter getting the winning goal from David Cossitt. Brussels now advance to play West Lorne. The Brussels Midgets were in Wainfleet on Sun- day. March 15 to play the third game in the best 2 out of 3 with Wainfleet defeating the Brussels team 2 to 1. This eliminated Brussels, from the play-offs. Scoring for Brus- sels was Todd Wheeler from Kevin Wheeler. The Novice team played in Milverton on , Monday. March 9 in the third game in the best 3 out of 5. Milverton won the game. Goal scorers for Brussels were not avail- able. The next game was played in Brussels Friday, March 13 with Milverton winning the championship 3 games to 1. The score as 3-1. The Brussels Atoms played in, Teeswater Tues- clay, March 10, in the first game in the best 3 out of 5 only to be defeated 7-I. Scoring for Brussels was Barry Blake. The next game was played in Brussels on Friday with Teeswater win- ning by the score of 7:1 with J.J. Clarke getting the only goal, assists going to Dean Nicholson and Ian Johnston. This gives Teeswater a 2 Men's high single for the night in the Brussels Mixed Bowling League was 260 bowled by Jim Adams. Den- nis Newby was second high with 236 and Steward Cardiff was third with - 227. Men's high triple went to Dennis Newby with 681. Second high was Jim Adams with 664 and Brian Secrett was third with 576.. For the ladies, Karen Ireland was high single with. 210. Audrey Cardiff was second with 203 and Wilda Higgins was third with 196. Ladies high triple went to game to 0 lead in the series, The next game in Teeswater is Tuesday March 17. The Brussels Pee Was played an exhibition game against Seaforth Friday March 13. Brussels defeated Seaforth 2-0. Scoring for Brussels were Wayne Wheeler from Marty Rut- ledge and Dean Wheeler from Mike Saxon. Wilda Higgins wth 540. Judy Adams was 2nd high with 506 and Karen Ireland was third with 477. Team S to tidings: Super.) et s 104 Hot Dogs 98 Going All The Way 97 Gutter Balls - 82 Spinners 74 Losers 66 Over the past weekend, the Brussels Morris and Grey Community Centre was a beehive of activity as the 7th Annual Brussels Optimist Atom Tournament com- menced. Competition in the "A" and "C" Division took place over the weekend with Aurora winning the "A" Championship for the third straight week and, Parkhill winning the "C" Champion- ship, Aurora won their cham- pionship by defeating Hes- peler 4 to. I, Welland 4 to 1 and Orangeville 5 to 3 in the final. The Consolation Championship in the "A" Division was won by 'Hes- peter. After losing their first game to Aurora, Hespeler defeated Kitchener Whales 7 to 5 and Galt 4 to I. Parkhill won the "C" Divi- sion by defeating Seaforth 3 to 0, Durham 6 to 1 and Lucan 4 to 1 in the final. Seaforth won the "C" Con-) solatibn by edging Belmont 3 to 2 and Mitchell 2 to 0. Tournament Chairman, Gerry Wheeler was very pleased with the good turn- out for the games and the fantastic support of the com- munity in belleting players from Aurora and Welland. Hopefully next weekend's action will attract many local fans as the "B" and "D" Division play is conducted.
