rain the Maitland River continued to rise this
week but had started to recede again by
Tuesday.
Dave Grummett, Lands Management
Supervisor at the Maitland Valley Conserva-

flooding in this area and, according to
observations, the Maitland River near
Brussels looked like it was running at its
peak at about 10:00 or 11:00 Monday night.

compared to other Authorities since they
hadn't had the same problems with ice and
snow.
"We're quite fortunate, we just have to
keep our fingers crossed that we don't, get
any more rain this week."
