The 1981 Be!grave Ice
Carnival, sponsored by the
Belgrave Hi-C and held last
Saturday night in the Com-
munity Centre, was another
huge success.
The M.C. Ross Procter
introduced the judges, Mrs.
Kenneth Wheeler and Mr.
and Mrs. Lorne Campbell,
who had a hard time deciding
among the Costumes. They
came up with winners: T.V.
Characters; first - Robert '
Gordon, second Phillip Mc-
Kee; third - Andrew Camp-
bell. Nursery Rhymes; first -
Christine Dobell, Heather
Dobell and Krista Bridge;
Knox Presbyterian con-
gregation held their annual
meeting in the church on
February 3 with, a good
attendance.
Rev. Kenneth
Innes opened the meeting
with scripture and prayer.
Douglas Bruce was appoint-
ed secretary. Plans were
made for a Centennial Ser-

The February meeting of
the Belgrave A.C.W. was
held at the home of Mrs.
Beth Procter. The president,
Mrs. Procter, led in' prayer
and the Lord's prayer was
said in unison. The Bible
reading was given by Mrs.
Clare Van Camp. The Roll
Call was answered by 7
members. Secretary, Mrs.
Clare Van Camp and Mrs.
Alex Netheryi treasurer, re-
ported. The members were
reminded of the World Day
of Prayer to the Presbyterian
Church on March 6 at 2
o'clock.
Mrs. Harold 'Jardin read
information about the. Nest-
le's boycott. Mrs. Procter
read "My never again list"
and "Catalogue Shopping."

WMS MEETS
The. W.M.S. met at the
Presbyterian Church on
Monday, February 2 with
Mrs. Jack McBurney presid-
ing,who opened the meeting
with the call to worship. Mrs.
Mac Scott read'the scripture
followed by Mrs. Joe Dunbar
and Mrs. Garner Nicholson
who gave the 'meditation
based on the life of Dr.
Albert ,Schweitzer, Mrs.
Elizabeth Fear led in prayer.

topic on the church among

Garner Nicholson moved a

Several races were held,
followed by the tug-of-war
where Morris beat East Wa-
wanosh in the best two out of
three match. In the hockey
game which wrapped up the
evening the Pee Wees were
,victorious over their fathers
6-5.
All proceeds of $210.00
were given from this carnival
to aid Mrs. Lottie Scott and
her family who lost
everything in a house fire
last Thursday morning.

Camp accompanied Mr. Alex
H, Nethery and Mrs. Anne
spiritual guidance through-
out last year, to Mrs. William

express their sympathy to
the family of the late Mrs.
Gladys Carson. Her son,
Rev. Fred Carson was a
former rector of the Anglican
Churches in Blyth, Belgrave,
Brussels and Auburn.

the theme when the Huron-
Perth Presbyterial United
Church Women met in
Brucefield. A sing song was
conducted by Mrs. William
Coultes of Belgrave. Greet-
ing and words of welco me
were extended, followed by a
business session, suggest-
ions for programs, a book
review and the installation of
the new officers by Rev. Rea
Grant of Listowel.
The 'guest speaker, Betty
Nortey chose as her subject,
"Partners in Crisis." She
told of her experiences as a
social worker .in Oshawa and
Labrador. She citied instanc-
'•es of problems with adopted
children, alcoholics, family
conflicts and cases of physi-
cal, emotional and sexual
abuse. Mrs. Norty •explained
her solution in each case.
Mrs. Jean Laurie Bolton. of
St. Marys contributed the
vocal solo.
