EUCHRE
Seven tables of euchre
were played in the Bluevale
Community Hall on Wed.
The Exeter Young People
held service in the chapel on
Sunday afternoon. This pro-
gramme was well attended
and much enjoyed by the
residents. Playing violins at
Old Tyrne Music were Wil-
son McCartney, Stan Hillen,
and Warren Whitmore. Ac-
companying them on his
mouth morgan was Lorne
Lawson. Guitar Art Finlay-
son. Accompanying the mus-
icians at the piano was Jim
Rose.
With Elsie Henderson
playing the piano we had a
good time on Wednesday
afternoon doing exercises to
music and playing our new
rhythm band instruments.
Ed Stiles was unable to
come to play the organ in the
chapel on Thursday after-
noon: however, we are look-
ing forward to hearing Ed
play next Tuesday afternoon.
We had a new admission
to Mens Bed Care this past
minutes. All reports were
adopted as printed in the
annual report,
Among improvements
made during the year were a
new roof on the church and

On Thursday morning the
Residents Council held their
first meeting. Election of
officers were as follows:
Frank Bissett, Chairman,
Grace Peck vice chairman,
Pearl McFarlane Secretary,
and Les Oliver, treasurer.
It was decided by the
council that the suggestion
box be placed ouside the tuck
shop for the benefit of any
residents who might like to
make suggestions.

HERMAN ALEXANDER
NETHERY
Herman Alexander Neth-
ery, of Blyth, died at his
home January 27 after a
short illness. He was 81,
Mr. Nethery was born in
Morris Township, the son of
John Nether)/ and Mary
Ellen Henderson. He attend-
ed public school in Brown-
town and Belgrave, and high
school in Wingham.
Mr. Nethery, who farmed
on the third line in Morris,
married the late Alta Hamil-
ton in 1931. He was a
member of Belgrave Angli-
can Church, the Belgrave
L.O.L. 462, a member of the
Royal Black Knight, Blyth
Preceptory 1226 and served
as a director on the Belgrave
Co-op board.
He is survived by a son,
Alex Nethery, of Blyth; a
sister, Mrs. Mary Wade,
Wingham and a brother,
Abner, of Pinecrest Nursing
Home in Lucknow. He was
predeceased by three bro-
thers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held.
Thursday at the Tasker Fun-
eral Home, Blyth, with Rev.
John Swan officiating.
Spring interment will be in
the Brandon Cemetery •in
Belgrave.

ELVA EARL
Mrs. Lisley Earl of At-
wood, the former Eva Clegg,
died in Listowel Memorial
Hospital on Monday, Janu-
ary 26 in her 87th year.
Surviving are her husband
Lesley Earl of Atwood, three
daughters Bertha (Mrs. Wil-
liam Searson) of Ayr, Reta
(Mrs. Jim Dunbar) of Wrox-
eteri Mrs. Laura Peebles of
Atwood, two sons Arnold of
Ottawa and Chester of At-
wood, 13 grandchildren and
15 great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by
her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Clegg and two bro-
thers Delbert and Verne and
one son-in-law.
The late Mrs. Les Earl
rested at the Peebles Funeral
Home, Atwood,where funer-
al and commital services
were held on Thursday,
January 29 at 2 p.m. Inter-
ment is in Gorrie cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy,
donations may be made to
the Ontario Heart Fund.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Strickler spent a few days
visiting in Hamilton and
Niagara Falls.
Miss Barbara Cameron
visited on the weekend with
her sister Sandra in Barrie.
