La Leche League of Bel-

the evening of January 20.
The topic of discussion was
"Advantages of Breastfeed-

mothers wanting to help
mothers breastfeed their ba-
bies and share ideas on
parenting. After 25 years, La
Leche League is now an
active service organization
throughout the world. Since
this is LLL's 25th Anniver-

commemorative items and

Elsa Haydon, chairman of

the conference is to bring
together people from all over
the world who are interested
in mothering through breast-
feeding. The topics will
ranee from breastfeeding to
grandparenting and cover
many subjects in between.
During the discussion, the
mothers shared their ideas
on what breastfeeding is.
"Expert, Schmexpert" was
read from Parents magazine
in order to note that there
were many sources of
information on child-raising,
and everyone had to form
their own philosophy of fami-
ly and make choices to meet
the needs of their own child-
ren. For many reasons,
breast-feeding helps mothers
understand their babies and
makes mothering more en-
joyable. These are outlined
in the book "The Womanly

also made to have a draw for

boat will be unloaded toward
the end of February and
moved to an area of the dock
where removal can be made.
The freighter cannot remain
in the docking area
indefinitely or it will block
traffic in the harbour.

County Council pasied a
motion approving the
addition of $15,000. to the
county's property committee
budget which will permit the
project to continue.
It is proposed that the
grounds will be maintained
by the town and the county

preparing and manning the

for the summer months
