"What can you do?" was
read by Mrs. Jasper Farrish.
It was decided among the
group to participate more in
mission work.
Anyone wishing to donate
articles for bales to Uganda
or the North, please notify
Mrs. Farrish or Mrs. Lara-
mie. Since St. Monica's
House, a home for unwed
mothers, is sponsored by
Huron Diocese, we will be
forwarding articles to them
as well.
The annual Craft Show will
be held April 25 at Howick
Community Centre; please
contact Mrs. Wayne King

for application forms.
Canon Laramie blessed the
Guild and the work they have
completed, He clOsed the
meeting with prayer followed
by Grace. Mrs. Harold King
and Mrs, Mac. Stuernol
served a delicious lunch
during an hour of fellowship.

Mrs. David Neilson was
hostess for the January
meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society of Knox
Presbyterian Church, Gorrie.
The president, Mrs. Gordon
Moir, opened the meeting
with a New Year's Resolution.
The roll call was answered
by eight members with Mis-
sionary items. Mrs. David
Neilson was named the dele-
gate to the Annual meeting
of the Maitland Presbyterial
which was held in St.
Andrews Presbyterian
Church on January 19th. The
world Day of Prayer will be
ob -served in St. Stephen's
Anglican Church on March 6,
1981.
On behalf of the Society,
Mrs. Alvin Mundell present-
ed a Life Membership Certif-
icate to Mrs. Harvey Adams
in recognition of her faithful
service to the missionary
cause.
Mrs. Gordon Moir intro-
duced the study "In Your
Midst."
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Bown visited Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Brown in Molesworth.
Mrs. Kenneth Norton and
Kelly of Whitby spent the
week-end with her parents
Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Fisher.
Mrs. Lloyd Jacques spent
a few days with Mr. and Mrs.
I ou Taylor at Hawkesville,
anu also attended the Guelph
Area subdivision of the
Women's Institute held at
the home of Mrs. Norman
Coghlin of Atwood on Wed-
nesday.
Mr. Fred Coulter spent-the
week with his daughter Mrs.
Melvin Omand of Listowel
and also visited Mr. and
Mrs. Thos. Coulter of List-
owel.
Mr. and Mrs. George
Noble and Mr. Ken. Noble
visited Sunday with Mrs.
Harry Adams of Wroxeter.
Mr. Birks Robertson of
Teeswater spent several days
with Mrs. Glad. Edgar and
also visited Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Edgar who were
married 62 years January
15th.

Wroxeter spent the week-
end with her grandmother,
WiEs. Jos .'Simmons.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mun-
dell visited Saturday at the
Mellyille Guild held a
combined business and work
meeting, January 20th.
President Jeanne Ireland
accepted the secretary's and
treasurer's reports from
Isabel Adams and Leona
Armstrong.
The February meeting will
take the form of a pot luck
supper to be held at the
home of Marguerite Krauter.
The January Birthday
Party at the Calander Nurs-
ing Home is to be arranged
by Judy Shortreed and Leona
Armstrong for the 29th.
Helen Elliott reported the
following as group leaders
for the next two years: Mary
Heuther, Mary Ten Pas,
Evelyn Mair, Judy Shortreed
home of Mrs. Jas. Smith of
Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. George
Brown visited. Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hoy of
Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. William A.
Smth have returned home
after holidaying at the homes
of Mr. and Mrs. Ron ald
Brooks in Vancouver Island
and also with Mr. Ben.
Jenkins of B.C.
Mr. Gordon Adams re-
turned home Thursday from
Victoria Hospital London
where he had undergone
surgery.
ST. STEPHENS ANGLICAN
GUILD
St. Stephen's Anglican
Guild opened its 1981 year
with the Guild Prayer sub-
mitted by Mrs. Merrill
Fisher.
Mrs. William` Bennett led
in a devotional period. She
based her talk on "Oppor-
tunities?" and stirred every-
one's thoughts. Scripture
from Gal. 6: 1-10 was read
by Mrs. Ronald Bennett. A
poem "Your Neighbours"
which stated "Give your
neighbour a smile or a short
hello, it doesn't cost a thine,
was read by Mrs. Roland
Bennett. A humouous read-
ing was also given.
Roll call was answered by
nineteen members and two
visitors with a New Year's
Resolution. The Friendship
Pennies was answered by the
number of windows in your
house.
Mrs. Roland Benett pre-
sented the secretary's report.
Notes of thanks were read
from the recipients of the
Christmas boxes. Mrs. M.
Fisher gave the treasurer's
report. The group had a very
successful year and God
willing will have a healthy,
happy and financial success-
ful year next.
A letter from Bishop Ragg
concerning the 1981 Interna-
tional Year of Disabled Per-
sons was read by Mrs. Ben-
nett:Heasked: What are we
going to do to improve
accommodations and atti-
tudes toward the disabled? A
pleasant smile or intelligent
conversation can go a long
way in uplifting the mora le of
these people. New vehicles
or large pieces of equipment
arc not always the answer to
happiness.
The Guild will be visiting
the patients at Fordwich
Kathleen Semple, Isabel
Huether, Dona Knight, Ethel
Brewer and Thelma Cardiff.
Several dinners are to be
catered during the coming
months- Rebekah Lodge,
May Smorgsbord and Grade
8 Graduation.
Lunch will be served after
church on the last Sunday of
the month.
