Hugh Alex Shaw, 82 of
Biussels died suddenly in the
Wingham and District Hospi-
tal on Friday, December 26.
He was born in Morris
Township, son of the' late
Hugh Anson Shaw and Mary
Ann Forrest and was married
to the former Pearl Carno-
chan who survives him. He
farmed in Morris Township
until his retirement and was
a member of the Melville
Presbyterian Church, Brus-
sels.
Surviving are three sons,
John and Jim of Bluevale and
Harvey of Brussels and two
daughters, ,Dorothy (Mrs.
Jim Thompson) of Bluevale
and Edith (Mrs. John Pipe)
of Brussels. Also surviving
are 13 grandchildren. He was
predeceased by one grand-
daughter and two brothers,
Frank and Ralph.

Concert of Knox United

held in the Woi'nen's Insti-
tute Rail on Monday evening
Dec. 22 with a large attend-
ance of excited youngsterS,
proud parents and nervous
teachers.
Rev, John G. Roberts,
acting .as master of ceremon-
ies, introduced the beginners
and junior choir who opened
the concert by singing chor-
uses. Steven Coultes• enter-
tained with >a humorous reci-
tation. The Senior Primary
class presented the skit "If
We Could Go to Bethlehem"
and this was followed by
Katherine Procter perform=
ing "The Sword' Dance."
The Junior Primary did a skit
entitled "Clear the path for
Christmas" and this was
followed by a piano solo by
Steven Coultes and a recit-
ation • by Clifford Coultes.
Heather McInotsh entertain
ed with a piano solo and the
Junior ClasS presented "The
true meaning of Christmas."
Following a recitation by Jeff
M Kee, the Intermediate
