thiS community extend' their
sympathy to Mrs. Willard
Armstrong and her family in
the sudden passing of her
husband Willard Armstrong.
CHRISTMAS SOCIAL
Trinity Anglican Church
held, a pot luck supper
Saturday evening followed
by a Christmas social in the
Wonien's Institute Hall. The
Hall was' decorated with a
Christ mas tree laden with
gifts.,
The programme opened
with a welcomer song by All
an Bailie. Recitations were
also given by Darryl Jardin,
Billy Bailie, Karen. Procter,
Michael Jirdin, Allan Bailie
and Angela Nethery, Solos
were sung by Allan Bailie,
Billy pailie, Darryl Jardin,
. Michael Jardin and. Brenda
Bailie and also songs by
Clarke Johnston were
enjoyed by all.
Denise Nethery, Jennifer
and 'Jeffrey Saunders played
piano solos.
A play entitled "Christina's
tradition" was presented.
The program closed with
songs by the choir and,
Sunday School.
Santa Claus arrived on
schedule to the great
delight of the smaller
children and distributed gifts
and bags of candy. He
departed wishing all a
"Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year".
'YOUNG PEOPLE
Quite a number of senior
citizens from Belgrave and the
surrounding area were
entertained by the Hi-C
Young People to a Christmas
dinner in Knox United
Church Sunday School room
The 'Belgrave Women's
Institute held theii
Christmas smorgasbord
dinner for their members,
families and friends on.
Tuesday evening, December
16 in the W.I. Hall. -'
Fc;llowing the meal a short
business period was held.
The members decided to host
the February 18th birthday
party at Huronview;
A tribute was paid in
memory of Mrs. Cora McGill
a life, long, and faithful
member who 'has .recently
passed away.
Clara Van Camp thanked
the ladies on behalf of all
visitors amt.-friends. January,
will be the Resolution
meeting with . Mrs. Earl
_Anderson as convenor at 2
p.m. on January 20:,The 4-H
leaders for the next club
will be Mrs. Alex Nethery,
Mrs. Glen Montgomery,
Mrs. James Hunter and Mrs.
Gary Van Camp.

resounded on the crisp
morning air from Knox
United Church, Belgrave,
spreading the good news of
Christmas, the interior of the
sanctuary held 'an air of 'the
festive season ' with
poinsettias, a tree all aglow,
candelabra in, poinsettia
attire, - multi -coloured
flower arrangements and

adopted by the school in
1974 and supported since
that date.
The monetary gifts were

contributed two numbers
"What Does It Mean 0
Watchman?" and
"Christmas Message
Christmas Joy",
Rev. John 6: Roberts
related the story of "The
Other Wise Man", using
Matthew 2' and 25.. as the
scripture reading for his
message.
Matthew 25: 37-40 When
did we ever see you hungry
and feed you? Thirsty and
give you drink? Ora stranger
and help you?.
And the King will tell them
"When you did 'it to these,
rnibrothers you were doing
it to me " was the thought
significant to the story.

' Following the meal
Clarence Hanna, on behalf of
all the other senior citizens,
moved a vote, of thanks to the
Young People for the,
wonderful meal which they
prepared.

spent a few days with her
sister-in-law Mrs. Willard
ArmStrong last week and
attended the funeral of her,
brother Willard Armstrong
