CHRISTMAS MEETING The Evening Unit of the Belgrave U.C.W • held their Christmas Meeting on Tues- day, December 9 at the home Students of East Wawan- osh Publi c School presented their annual Christmas con- cert at the school on Decem- ber 17. The first number on the program was "The Story of a Fir Tree" by the kindergart- en. "Away In The Manger," "Christmas Alphabet." and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" was sung by grade one, followed by The Mass Choir - grades 4 to 8 The Christmas meeting of the Afternoon Unit of the U.C.W. was held at the home of Mrs. Cecil Coultes, the group leader. Mrs. Coultes welcomed all present with a special welcome to the guests. Several ladies ex- pressed "Thoughts of Christ- mas," thoughts of babies, of families, Peace on Earth, Good - Will, Love and Savi- our. Following each reading the corresponding portion of scripture was read in unison and a Christmas hymn sung. A Chistmas 'carol was given by Mrs. William Fent- on. Mr. and Mrs. Don Vair led the singing and also favoured with a duet. Mrs. Walter Scott gave a reading, "Lets-keep Christ- mas," by Peter Marshall, He says Christmas is in the heart. ' The prom isethat the angels sang is the most beautiful of music - Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good-will towards men. The minutes were read by the secretary Mrs. Millar of Armstrong, the treasurer's of Mrs. William Coultes. The worship service was led by Mrs. Norman Cook and Mrs, Norman Cook. The scripture was read by Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler and. Mrs. Jack Tay- lor led in prayer. The group will arrange the birthday at Brookhaven Nur- sing Home on Friday Dec. 12. Prayer by Mrs. Reginald Shultz. Everyone read a Christmas poem or story. Concert held Christmas thoughts at UCW The Evening unit of' the U.C.W. of Knox United Chu- rch, Belgrave, held the Dec- ember birthday party at Brookhaven Nursing Home, Wingham on Friday after- noon. Several Christmas Carols were sung accompanied by Mrs. George Johnston at the- piano'. Andrea Coultes play- ed • a piano solo. Alison Coultes sang two numbers accompanied by her mother Mrs. Willima Coultes-at the piano, followed by two piano solos, by Steven Coultes. Heather Morton, Kathe- rine and Jennifer Procter danced the Highland: Fling and Kathering favored with the Sword dance. Members of the Evening unit served birthday cake to the residents in the home.
