The Walton Vkimen's
Institute held their Education
and Cultural Activities meet-
ing on Wednesday evening
at the community hall.
The President, Mrs. Har-
old 'ludic presided. Mrs. Bill
Humphries was pianist. Mrs,
Jim Axtinann read the min-
utes and financial „report.
Tickets were given, out for
the Grey Township firemen
panquet on Saturday eve-
"ning, when several members
' offered to help.
Mrs. Harvey Craig, dele-
gate Who attended the 41st
Guelph Area Convention in
Kitchenerlast month, gave, a
detailed outline of the two
day event. The theme for the
convention was "Take time
to grow". The convention
next year will be held in the
Brussels, Morris k Grey
Community •Centre. It is
stressed we learn to use the
new words to 0 'Canada.
..Mrs. Humphries • played
Amazing Grace and it was
sung to it as at "the area
convention. Tracey Bennett
did the highland fling and
later the sword dance. Mrs.
Graeme Craig gave a read-

In 'the business, plans
were 'tnadefor the Bake Sale
and Tea to be ,held at the
community hall Satnrclay at
2:30 p.m. There is to be a
bake table, touch and take
table and candy table.' Each
member 'is , asked to bring
either muffins or tea biscuits
for the tea table,
The hostesses were ehasen
for the euchre on Tuesday
evening, December 9. The
hostesses • are to be' Mrs.
Harold Hudie, Mrs. Bill

After some discussion it

meeting would. begin with a
pot luck supper at6:30, p.m.
Program is to be *n charge of
conveners of Branch Direct-
ors and Public Relations
Officer. There is to be a gift
exchange of $2.00. It was
stressed that new members
are welcome.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Harold Hudie, Mrs. Keith
Reck, and Mrs. Graeme'
Craig.
BOUNDARY & 17111 UNIT
Mrs. Ross. Bennett was
hostess for the November
meeting of the unit on
Wednesday evening at her
home.
Mrs. Barry Hoegy opened
with a thought on remem-
brance.
Mrs. Cliff Hoegy gave a
reading "He died for me". A
story followed on Singapore
showing some of the pro-
gress that has been made
Since the fast war.
Mrs. Gragme Craig pre-
sided for the business. Min-
ules were read by. Mrs.
Helen. Williamson. There
were 13 ladies present. Mrs.
B. Hoegy 'gave the treasur-
er's report followed by mis-
cellinealis fund given by
Mrs. H. Johnston.
All units are to attend the
U.C.W. Christrhas meeting
on Debember 3 beginning
with a pot luck supper.
December 14 is Men's Sun-
day. The quilt committee
displayed two quilts, ready
for "sale. It was decided to
make a donation to the
Callendar Nursing Home, in-
Brussels.

hopes She is soon back home

The 8th and 16th unit met
at the home of Elisabeth
Boethcher on Wednesday
evening with 10 members
present. Veira McDonald
opened with• a poem.
Lynne Davies presented a
devotional' reading, "What
can I do for 'World Peace?"
indicating a Christian can
dedicate his life in service
and sacrifice to God and to
pray for all men.
Vera McDonald read the
poem, "In Flanders Field"
by John McCrea. .
Melva Fraser presided for
the business. Minutes were
read by Mrs. Davies. Leona
McDonald' reported on the
financial statement of the
Fowl Supper. •
