Remembrance was the
theme Tor' the Walton Unit
Meeting, Wednesday
evening November 12.
Mrs. Nelson Reid opened
with a poem. Mrs. Ray

Mrs. Robt. McMurray was
hostess for the recent meet-
ing of the Women's Mission-
ary Society of Knox Presby-
terian Church.
Mrs. G. Golley welcomed
everyone including visitors
from Bluevale United
Church.
21 members answered the
roll call with a verse relating
to "Remembrance." Mrs.
Ross Gray gave the treasur-
er's report. The offering was
received by Susan Elston and
Mrs. Gray.
A thank you card was read
from Fraser Haugh and
family. A letter will go to the
session in regards to buying
a P.A. system for the church.
Mrs. Elston gave a talk on
her trip to Holland with her
husband and other veterens
and their wives.
While there they watched
the coronation on T.V. which
their host translated from the
Dutch language, The vetpr-
ans took part in a very special ,
service arranged by the
Dutch government i and felt
very proud to be Canadian:
Flags of Holland and Canada
were flown everywhere.
They visited cemeterys of the
soldiers who died in the war
where there were tulips
planted in front of each 2500
tombstones.
They also visited Germany
which was very pretty with
vine yards and grain

"Little Things". Mrs, Reid J
read a poem on •
Remembrance Day.
Mrs. Ray Huether had
many drawings and postors
on display for her timely
topic for this time of the year,
November 11, reading a
poem "A Soldier oni
Crutches".
Mrs: Huether said we have
a call to a better world, we
wonder if we should try to be
better people, we must
accept ourselves be better
ourselves, and discipline
ourselves. We think of re-
membrance day, live think of
the last two wars.
Mrs. Alex Gulutzin pre-
sided for the business. Mrs.
Howard Hackwell read the
minutes and 22 members
answered the roll call.
COPPER CONTEST
The copper contest leaders
gave their report for the
year...Mrs. Ian Wilbee and
his, side won over Mrs. Bill
Coutts' side. It was decided
to have a supper on _1
Thursday, December 11 at
6:30 p.m. with the losing side
making preparations. There
is to be a small gift.
