babies learning to breast-
feed. Difficulties which may
be encountered while nurs-
ing were described. It was
emphasi7cd that these diffi-
culties could be prevented by
proper management, and if
encountered, could be over-
come with advice from the
Professional Advisory Board
of LLL. The mothers were
made aware of the recom-
mendations made by the
Canadian Paediatric Society
on Family Centered Perinatal
Care.
A verbal picture was
drawn of a mother giving
birth and becoming a nursing
couple in alt ideal situation.
Questions were then invited.
Following the discussion,
Liliane Nolan introduced two
new books to the library.
LLL Belgrave held its se-
cond meeting in the series at
the home of Mrs. Leslie
Martin , Wingham with
women attending from
Wingham, Belgrave, Luck-
now, Goderich and Paisley.
Mrs, Barbara Kerr wel-
comed the' Mothers and ba-
bies and asked for introduc-
tions and a fact or fiction
about La Leche League.
Many facets of LLL were
brought out, some serious
and some humorous, but the
most important function of
LLL was merritioned as pro-
viding information and en-
couragement to nursing
mothers.
Personal experiences con-
cerning breastfeeding were
related in order to give
helpful hints for mothers and
