The North Huron Regional
Rally of Huron-Perth Presby-
terial was held October 14 in
Knox .,United, Church, Bel-
grave with an attendance of
111. President Mrs. Cliff
Logan welcomed the guests
and conducted the meeting a
lively singsong, led by Miss
Minnie McElevain and ac-
companied, by Mrs. Ron Liv-
ermore of the Fordwich
U.C.W., was enjoyed. An
invitation from Bluevale
U.C.W. for the 1981 rally
was 'accepted. Mrs. Anne
Walters brought greetings
and Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner• of
Exeter introduced some new
books on display.
A trio from Gorrie U.C.W.,
- Mrs. Robert Strong,
Mrs. Raymond Gowdy, Mrs.
Jack Ferguson, accompanied
by Ms. Mann, sang several
numbers. A thought provok-
ing skit was presented by
several members of the Brus-
sels U.C.W. "

clair Wardrop and Miss -Li-
vonne Ballagh, conducted

tute was held recently with .
Mrs. Lawrence Taylor as
convenor: A series of slides
on Ireland were shown by the
speaker Mrs. Alice Scott, 4-
Girls, Muriel Taylor and
Donelda Lamont demonstrat-
ed Chinese cooking techni-
ques as they prepared Stir
Fried Pork. This demonstra-
tion work was necessary for
them to complete their 4-H
project.
The Belgrave Branch was
invited to the 75th anniver-
sary of the Auburn Branch to
a luncheon and card party on
November 18. The Women's
Institute is concerned about
the extent of foreign owner-
ship so a resolution to this
effect will be noted on at the
Area Convention in St.
Marys.
Mrs. John Anderson and
Mrs. Jim Hunter reported on
the County Rally held recent-
ly.
A donation was made to
the C.N.I.B.

Mrs. Andrew Gaunt, 'Mr.
and Mrs. Murray Gaiint,

at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
LESLIE BOLT.
Leslie Bolt, 81, of Belgrave
died in • Wingham and
District Hospital on October
20 following a lengthy
illness. Mr. Bolt, the son of
Eli Bolt and Isabella
Gemmill, was born in Turn-
berry Township on May 13,
1899. He attended Powell's
Turnberry School, and
Wroxeter • Continuation
School.
Mr. Bolt was married in
1933 to Olive Stokes in the
Teeswater Presbyterian
Manse. Following their
marriage, the couple lived in
Turnbeny Township from
1933-46, then in Morris
Township from 1946 to 1968
and finally in Belgrave. Mr.
Bolt, a farmer, served as,
president of the 13elgrave
School Fair, as a director of
the Belgrave.Co-op and as a
member of the session of
Knox United Church.
As well as his widow,,, Mr.
Bolt is survived by, two
daughters, Elaine Nixon ,of
Formosa and Lorne, Mrs.
Wayne Brown, of- Wingham.
He is also survived by seven
grandchildren and one great-
grandchild. He was
predeceased, by a brother,
William F101t of R.R. 1,
Wroxeter and sister,
Maribelle, Mrs. Jack Osier of
Mitchell.
The funeral was held Oct.
22 , from Knox United
Church, Belgrave at 2 p.m.
Rey. John , G. Roberts
officiated. Burial was in
Brandon Cemete6T,
Belgrave.
The pallbearers' were
Garner Nicholson, John
Nixon, • Harold Keating,
Edgar Wightman, Sam Fear
of Belgrave ' and James
Coultes of Wingham.
The flower bearers were
Steven and Randy Nixon of
R.R. 5, Brussels, and Susan
Brown and Timothy Brown of
Wingham.
NORMAN BEIRNES
Noiman Beirnes of Atwood
died Tuesday, October 21 at
the Listowel Memorial Hos-
pialt. He was in his 73rd
year.
Surviving are a sister Eliz-
abeth (Mrs. Fred Sawyer) of
Brussels and several nieces
and nephews. He was pre-
deceased by his parents and

The president, Donna Hig-
gins opened the sixth meet-
ing with the 4-H pledge. The
secretary read the minutes
and the roll call was answer-
ed by 12 members.
We talked about bitty piz-
za for awhile, then played a
game to see if we had
-learned anything. After the
game we wnet into the
kitchen to make bitty pizza.
Everyone thought they were
good.
