Boys and girls are welcome to join from ages 13 to . 19 to learn first aid, discipline, map using, orienteering, drill, field craft, and many other useful and rewarding experiences. The two groups will hold a bdnquet, Friday, Nov. 14, at the Kiwanis Arena in Stratford. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a "get acquainted" hour. At 6 p.m. In October, the cadets will be travelling to Strathroy on October 11 to participate in a Fun Day. They will combine with corps from all over Ontario for a march past in the morning and games of all kinds in the afternoon. On the weekend of October 31, the cadets will be going to Ipperwash Army Cadet Camp to practise on the rifle range and do other outdoor activities. The Cadets will also be starting Tae-KWon-Do every Wednesday Night at the Brussels Legion. of Pamerston visited on. Sunday with Mr. and. Mrs. Alex Robertson. Special speaker for the evening will be Myron Angus, a quadraplegic paint- by-mouth artist. On Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. Alpha. Huron will sponor a wheel- chair basketball game at Madill Secondary School in Wingham. The game will feature the Kitchener-Water- loo Spinners, and the Forest City Fliers. - Everyone is welcome at these events. At the same meeting Alpha Huron donated $50 to the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope, and $25 to the CNI11. Alpha Huron meets next on Tues. Oct. 28 at 8, p.m. at the home of Phyllis Cox, Goderich. The Thanksgiving meeting of the afternoon unit of the U.C.W. was- held in the Sunday School room of Knox United Church September 29th. Each member listed one or more things for which she was thankful. Mrs. Earl Andeson was in charge of the worship service A thanksgiving meditation. "Give Thanks Whatever Happens" was given by Mrs. Willard Armstrong. "There—are so many reasons for gratitude," she said. "If we should decide to make a list where should we begin?" We can only offer up our thanks without ceasing. On the other hand the world is bleeding, and agonizing and hurting. This is not a time to falter but a time for re- pentance reconcilation I and renewal. Mrs. Helen Martin chose The Healing of the Ten Leper s for the bible study. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna spent two days at the Plowing Match at Woodstock. They also visited with their granddaughter and grandson Mr. and Mrs. Randy McLean and son Bradley of Woodstock. Lisa Campbell and Leslie Burrnan of London spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Camp. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Squires of Carsonville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler, Mr. Vincent Makas of. Chicken Cacciatore and the popular Cabbage Rolls month among the pupils of the elementary schools of the township to design a Morris Crest that could be printed on tee shirts to sell during the anniversary year. The winner of this competition will receive a free tee shirt as a prize. The purchasing of Ober' souvenirs ,was discussed and various committee members will report at the, next meeting October 14, at 8:30 p.m. in the Brussels Arena. were discussed.
