A gleneral meeting of
Minor Hockey was held on
Thursday, September 18 at
the arena with only 12
interested person attending.
Of those twelve persons,
only three of them were
interested in coaching hoc-
key. Needless to say, more
coaches are needed for the
'80-'81 season. Anyone inter-

The Fainily Brown, four
times voted Canada's top
country group will appear in
concert October 18 at Blyth
Memorial Hall. '
The group has become one
of Canada's top concert
attractions because of their
string of hit singles such as
"R.R. #2" and "Stay with
Me". They are well known
through many television
appearances, including on
own weekly television
program.
In concert they have
appeared' at the Canadian
National Exhibition in
Toronto, Klondike Days in
Edmonton and at the
Commonwealth Games at
Edmonton. In 1979 they
made a successful tour of
".ngland.
Although not all members
of The Family Brown are
related there are four
members of the Brown
family in the group. Joe
Brown, father of three of the
group members, sings, plays
bass and has written
many of the group's tunes.
It was a het night on the
alleys for same members cif
the Brussels'Mixed Bowling
League,two men .having over
700 triples.
Jim Adams bewled a 741
triple and Ed Mosterd
followed closely with a 725
triple. Third high , men's
triple, was 662 bowled by
Dennis Newby. It was also a
high singles night with one
over 309 - Jim Adams; 353
and one very, very close. - Ed

Was third high with 267.
For the ladies, high single
for the night was Judy
Adams with 218, Debbie Hull
was second high with 215

self. If 'enough interest is
shown there is a chance that
girls ringette will be availa-
ble this year. Girls will be
required to wear boyi skates
and the exchange will be an
ideal time to pick them up.
See you at the arena when
both Minor Hockey and the
Figure Skating Club will be
holding their registration
night.
He's been performing
country music since his early
days in Amherst, Nova
Scotia.
Son Barry, who plays
rhythm guitar and sings, was
voted the Big •Country Music
Award for "Outstanding
performance by a Male
Artist". Lawanda Brown is a
lead vocalist who plays
tambourine and has written
such songs as "Bounce Back
Baby" and "Yesterday's
Love."
Tracey Brown is the
youngest member of the
group and has been lead
singer on many of the
group's songs.
Other members of The
Family Brown include Ron
Sparling on drums, Dave
Dennison, lead guitarist as
well as performer of some of
the novelty songs and .Gary
(Spike) Spicer who plays
steel guitar, lead guitar.

a.m. on Saturday mornings.
The fee will be $25. Travel-

will be an additional $10 only
if they wish to travel.
