Rev. Harley Moore, Grand
Bend, told Huron-Perth
Presbytery last week that
"while I don't agree with all
aspects of the report on
Human Sexuality I do believe
that we must take a look at
these important issues that
face us. We must look at our
maleness and femaleness.
The Grand Bend pastor
stressed that the controver-
sial document is a study
report, not a policy of the
United Church. Rev. Rae
Grant, chairing his first
Huron-Perth - meeting,
teamed up with Moore to
discuss highlights of the 28th
General Council in Halifax
last month.
The report on indoctri-
nation also drew interest
from the court. The task
force study put greater im-
portance on baptism while
affirmation will not have the
same emphasis. The com-
missioners said that most of
the report had been referred
for further study.
Presbytery met in Trinity
United Church, Listowel.
The continuance of Sing-
time over CKNX TV beyond
the current season was de-
bated at length. It's five-man
committee asked the court to
assess the value of the
program. A decision of whe-
ther to continue support will
be made at the next meeting.
Questionnaires which were
circulated are to be a guide in
evaluation. Singtime is be-
lieved to be the longest
running religious program on
TV.
Presbytery appoved a loan
of $40,000 from the Capital
Assistance Fund of the Divi-
sion of Mission in Canada for
a new addition to Grace
United, Tavistock. Brussels
United received permission
to sell it s cemetery to the
municipality.
