demand with no large lots of
top quality steers on offer. A
good supply of heifers traded
at higher prices. Pigs sold on
a good demand. There were
808 cattle and 1782 pigs on
offer.

Matheson home
The September meeting
of the Melville Ladies Aid
was held at the home of Mrs.
Clarke Matheson.
Ten ladies answered the%
roll call with some lovely
poems and verses. Mrs.
Harvey Dennis as leader,
opened the' meeting with all
singing four verses of "Blest
be the Tic that Binds,-
followed by prayer.
Ethel Long read the scrip-
ture from Hebrews, Chapter
11. Mrs. Mabel Smith led in
prayer. A poem on the
seasons was read by Berva
Dennis. The secretary trea-
surer's report, the sunshine
report were read. Collection
was taken and Berva Dennis
read "Search for the best."
A delicious lunch was
served by Adeline Smith and
Mary Yuill, assisted by the
hostess.
