Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ander- son and Sheila spent last week at Rondeau Park on Lake Erie. Mr. and Mrs. Maitland Edgar and Brenda of Petrolia and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Edgar returned home recent- ly after enjoying a' motor trip through the northern States to Calgary and Banff return- ing ,by northern Ontario. JOIN IN TOUR Twelve Belgrave residents in the company of 33 mem- bers from Milkmay, Tees- Water, Wingham and Brus- sels travelled by ' "Leisure Tours Inc." with Rob Dos- man, driver, and Marg Burk- kart, guide to Caledonia on Friday. They cruised, for two hours aboard the "Grand. River Belle" on the scenic Grand, River between Cale- donia and Chiefswood with Captain Philip Trauers, nar- rating the history of the area, while the group enjoyed a delicious hot beef dinner. The day's tour included visits to "Woodside", the home of William Lyon Mac- Kenzie King, the residence of Alexander Graham Bell,- and, an evening meal at Conestoga Mall, Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Armstrong, Mrs. David Han- na of Hanoyer met John and Ronald Hanna at Malton Airport on Sunday on their return home from spending the summer at Edmonion, Alberta. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pleteh, Ruth Ann and Kerry Ann returned home on Wednes- day after spending a week Obituary. ALBERT WOOD A former businessman in the village of Brussels, own- er of a dry goods store in that village for 35 years, Albert Wood of 318 Leopold Street, Wingham, died; in Wingham and District Hospital on Thursday, August 21. Mr. Wood was born in Rochdale; Lancashire, Eng- land, on April 12, 1896. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wood. During his years in Brussels, he was active in the community as a charter member of the -Brus- sels Lions Club as well as a member of the Masonic Logde in the village. His wife, the former Lilian Jarman, predeceased him in 1977. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (El- ayne) Rintoul of Wingham, two sons, Bob of San. Pedro, California, and Kenneth, of Clinton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Charlie. The " late Albert Wood rested at the at the Currie Walker Funeral Home, Wingham, where friends paid their respects until Saturday when funeral and committal service was con- ducted for the immediate family by Rev, K. Barry Passmore at one o'clock. Following cremation, Mr. Wood's final resting place will be Brussels Cemetery. with Mr, and Mrs. Max, Pletch, Krista and Andrea of Dryden. Mr. and Mrs., John Pro- prost of St. Catharines spent last weekend with Mr. and • Mrs. Jack Mali and baby Taylor and also with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Taylor. Visitors at the home .of Mr, and Mrs. Jini Taylor, Trisha and Sherry on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs., Lawrence Taylor, Mr, and Mrs. Robert Gordon, Robert and Marg- aret Ann, Mr. and. Mrs. John Thompson, .Mr. and Mrs. Jack 'Mali and baby Taylor. This being the occasion of Trisha's 5th birthday.
