women in employment was a
major theme of the meeting.
Floia MacDonald, former
Minister of External Affairs,
spoke to the delegates on
roles for women in politics.
Five area women at-
' tended the annual,meeting of
the Federation of Women
Teachers' Associations of
Ontario held in Toronto from.
August 12-15.
There were 600 delegates
representing the , women
teachers in Ontario's. ele-
mentary public schools and
the five who attended from I

HUNT—CAMERON
Lynn Cameron, of Listowel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Alex Caineron of R.R. 3; • Brussels and Randy Hunt of
Fordwich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hunt of Fordwich,
were wed at Knox Presbyterian Church in ,Cranbrook on
Saturday, August 9 in a candlelight service. Rev. W.
Murray of Knox Presbyterian Church in Mitchell officiated
at the ceremony. The maid of honor was Chris. Schalk of
Listowel and bridesmaids were Sandra Cameron of Barrie
and Barbara Cameron of R.R. 3, Brussels (sisters of the
bride). The flower girl was Jennifer Pym of St. Catherines
(cousin of the groom). Richard Hunt of Kingston (brother
of the groom) was the best man and ushers were Dale
Hunt of Fordwich (brother of the groom) 'and Roger
Cameron of R.R. 3, Brussels (brother of the bride). Lynne
Chambers of Wroxeter was the organist and Debbie Schalk
of Atwood was the soloist for The Wedding Song, The
Rose, You Light Up 'My Life and Walk Hand in Hand.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Elma
Memorial CommunityCentre in Atwood. The couple took a
wedding trip to New York State and eastern Ontario and

Mrs. Myra Stewart to disCuss
"Nutrition and Weaning",
on Aug. 19th. In appreciation
for having been hostess for
this series of meetings, Mrs.
Stewart was presented with a
book, "Woman at Home".
Three areas of concern
were touched upon. The
mothers were aware of the
fmportance of good nutrition,
concentrating on a balanced
,diet for all members of the
'family. In choosing nutritious
foods, the mothers made a
practice of reading labels.

her task was not easy in
picking the winners..
Overall winner of the Vera
Frain Trophy was Mrs.
Helen Dobson, Ethel. The
I Rose Class winner was Mrs.
R.W. Stephens. Winner in
arrangements was Mrs. Shir-
, ley Wheeler. -
There was a large crowd to
the supper. Door prize win-
ners were: Mrs. Mary Blake,
'Mrs. Marie Jacklin, Mrs.
Inez Cameron, Arron Griffin,
Mrs. Ruth Sauve, and Mrs.
Eleanor Hemingway.

Feelings and attitudes
concerning weaning were
described, as the positive
aspects of nursing 's newborn
or an older baby-were noted.
It was felt that weaning was a
personal affair, taking into
consideration the needs of
the baby as recognized by
the observant mother.
Mrs. Barbara Kerr thank-
ed the mothers for coming
and invited them to attend
the next series at the home of
Mrs. Leslie Martin, Wing-
ham. Everyone then enjoyed
a refreshing snack of fresh
fruits.
