Series tickets are now on
sale for the winter program
at 'Blyth Memorial Hall.
Keith Roulston, administr-
ator for the Blyth Centre for
the Arts, recently announced
a full series of events to be
held in Blyth Memorial Hall
this winter. "I think we can
offer people a really full and
varied program this winter,
and at a price it would be
hard to beat anywhere else."
The winter program is
divided into a music series
and a children's series, ac-
companied by a number of ,
special events.
The music series kicks off
on November 12 with The
Brass Company, a trio of
trumpet, trombone and
french horn players who mix
music from periods as di-
verse as the Renaissance and
the modern era with a good
dose of humour and enter-
tainment. On Dec. 11, The
Ruggett Family will present
their program of Christmas
music from the Renaissance'
performed in period costume
and played on the instru-
ments of that time. Maureen
Forrester, Canada's fore-
most contralto, will appear in
Blyth on April 29, 1981. The
Tapestry Singers will com-
plete the music series on
May 20, 1981 with their
"Theatre Tapestry," a selec-
tion of songs and hits from
Broadway musicals,
A series to keep the
children happy will also be
offered at Blyth this winter.
Eric Nagler, folk singer and
musician extraordinaire will
present a children's concert
on November 22, replacing
Fred Penner, who is listed in
the programme brochure for
that date. Lampoon Puppet
Theatre will present
"Monkey Business" on
March 14, 1981, a menagerie
of puppets in hilarious
sketches that are sure to

'Cows in the firalthird stage
of Iodation produce more
milk. Consequently, it is tO
your advantage to, feed them
more grain mix or top dress
conCentrate. Corn silage is
relatively low in protein
content, therefore, if it is the
only forage fed, more con-,
centrate must be added to
the grain ration (approxi-
mately 600 Pounds of soy-
bean meal 44%). if' corn
silage is mixed half and half
with good quality hay or
haylage, the protein content
is increased. Less protein is
required in the grain ration.
Depending on the analysis
of the hay or haylage,
probably about 300 pounds of •
soybean meal 44% may
suffice. When excellent bay
or haylage is fed, little
soybean meal 44% may be
required except to the high
producing cows. yrotein nit-
