Mrs. James Baker and Mark of London, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson, # Sheila, and Doreen, Richard - Anderson, of London, Mr., and Mrs. Rick Ball of flan- ' over, Mr. and. Mrs. Robert Grasby, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, Tara and Erin of Ilderton, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Bradley of Luck- now, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Beattie of VVingha.m, Mr. and Mrs. Norman MacLen- nan, Can and Adam of Kitchener, Mr. Ernest Michie and Mrs. Elizabeth Leslie. JOINT SERVICE A joint service was held at Knox United Church on Sun - 1 day morning with members , Between $7,000' and $8,000 in damageykas caused by fire at Murray Blake's farm north of Walton recent- ly. The fire was caused by overheating hay. According to Sharon Blake, the haylage had been treated against Neighbours, friends and relatives gathered in the Belgrave Women's Institute Hall, Saturday evening August 9, to honour Jim and Mad, Coultes before their departure to their new home in Wingham. Following a short period of euchre, Glen Van Camp, a former •employee of the Coultes . •trucking business, read an address to the honoured couple. He mentioned the high esteem held by the community for them, their participation in Belgrave endeavours, and related humourous experi-. ences encountered during his fourteen years as a worhnan for the Coultes family. brittleness and this was also to help stop overheating. Mr. Blake suffered black- outs at the time of 'the fire August 3 and was taken to hospital. Mrs. Blake's sister, a registered nurse, assisted with Mr..Blake on the way to the hospital. He was over- . Nine former hired helpers attended the social evening. These stood and were recognized. On behalf of the community, Glen requested Jim and Marj to accept gifts. In his reply to the address Jim, after expressing their thanks, referred to his wife, his family and his employees whom he considered "family". Each had assisted him in attaining his goal. To be successful in any endeavour, each of us must set a goal and then strive to reach' it.He stated that the progress of a thriving community depends on its children, its church and its school. come by gas' es released by the burning hay. Mrs. Mildred Elliott and Miss Edith Stokes of Leamington spent the, week- end with their cousins Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Yuill. Mr. and Mrs. Danny McBurney were dinner guests with their grand- mother Mrs. Leslie Bolt. Douglas Bieman who 'is employed as a high school teacher at the Iroquois Falls -Secondary School is holiday- ing with his mother Mrs. Agnes Bieman. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Camp, Mrs. Olive Campbell and their grandson Michael Jardin enjoyed a holiday in Northern Ontario where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ansley and family and Mrs. Ivy Ansley of Thessalon. They also called. on Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Campbell of Thessalon. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnston of Bruce Mines, Mrs. Verna , Hopkins of Echo Bay and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Van Camp and family of Massey. Mr. and Mrs. Don Campbell, Lisa and 'Brent of London spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Camp and Kevin. A fatally gathering was held on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler. Those attending Included Mr. and Mrs. James Coultes, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylorgirls of Alliston, Mr. and Mrs. Don Rae and boys of Guelph, from Knox Presbyterian Church and Calvin;Brick United. Church participating. Mrs, GeOrge Procter at the organ. and Miss Sheila And- erson at the Piano played prior to the opening and during the services. Members' of the session taking part were Robert Grasby, Clifford Coultes, George. Michie and Glenn Coultes. "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "The Lord's My Shepherd" were played on the bag pipes by Charles Procter followed by Ron and Wayne Lockie of Gorrie, members of the Listowel Secondary School choir who sang. PERSONALS' Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, Tara •and Erin of Ilderton spent the week-end with "her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby. Mrs. Johnston and the girls re- mained with her parents for a few days before returning to their home. of Walton. All their livestock , was out of the barn at the time of the fire. Grey Township fire depart- ment was called to the fire and. Blyth firemen assisted. Neighbours and friends have helped to repair the barn. Mrs. Len Jarvis of Listowel, Mr. Vincent Makas and Miss Pat Keith of London, Mrs. Albert Coultes and Clifford, Mr. and -Mrs. Bruce Campbell and family of RR1, Belgrave.
