ing his lifetime, Mr. Mc-

His life is a series- of
anecdotes about the famous
men of our history. The play
will be ..performed in Blyth

built in 1920 as a memorial to

anniversary of the hall.
SCRIPT DEVELOPED
The script for The Life
That Jack Built has been
developed in rehearsal by the
actors from old scripts and
songs collected from Mr.
McLaren and from inter-
views with the people who
know him. The bulk of the
research had been done by
Janet Amos and David Fox,
Ms. Amos is the artistic
director of the Blyth. Summer
Festival as well as director of
this play, and Mr. Fox is a
well-known actor who will
play Mr. McLaren in the
FlaY.
The cast also includes.
William Dunlop, Thomas
Hauff, John Jarvis, Michel
• Lefebvre, Seana McKenna
and musician John Roby.
The play retains much of the
flavour of the original battle-
field entertainments and
many of the songs and skits,
have been taken verbatim
from the original shows of
the Princess Pats Comedy
Company.
The play opens August 5 at
the Blyth Summer Festival
and plays in repertory until
Aug. 30. Tickets and inform-
ation are available by calling
(519) 523-9300, or at any
ticket outlet of the Blyth
Summer Festival.
