MRS. GEORGE BROWN
335-3424
About 30 descendants of
Elizabeth Logan and Hugh
MacDonald who came to
Canada in 1853 gathered at
the Teeswater Town Hall on
Saturday, July 19th for a
smorgasbord meal at noon.
Mr: and Mrs. Stuart Mc-
Donald greeted the cousins
as they arrived. Five of the
original nine families were
represented and correspond-
ence or telephoned regrets
were received from the
others.
A brief meeting was con-
ducted by the president4vIrs.
Ken MacDonald of Tees-
water. It was agreed to hold
the next reunion at the
Teeswater Town Hall on--
August 15th, 1981. The off-
icers for 1981 are: president-
Mrs. Ken MacDonald, Tees-
water; secretary-treasurer -
Mrs. Alvin Mundell, Gorrie;
American vice president -
B.K. MacDonald, Saline,
Michigan; Canadian vice
president - Dave McDonald,
Willowdale, Ontario; memor-
ial representatives - Mrs.
Hugh Armstrong, Teeswater
Mrs. Chas. Cook, Westland,
Michigan.
Of interest was a letter
from Ken MacDonald of
Seattle who was a lookout on
Mount St. Helens in 1925-26.
B.K. MacDonald of Saline,
Michigan came the farthest
and Dana Leeson of Water-
loo, Ontario was the young-
est member attending.
The cousins enjoyed re-
newing acquaintances and
looking over pictures of ear-
lier reunions and older cous-
ins, the family tree prepared
by Marion Mundell and the
house log of the original
homestead prepared by
Hazel MacDonald.
