ALLAN McCALL 8/17-6677 Ray McClure arrived home last Week from Daysland, Alberta where he will spend a month holidaying with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hat. vey McClure and family and other relatives in- the cprn- niunity. ' - Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bilo- krYlie of Sratforcl• visited on Saturday evening with Mr. Sholdice reunion on both days: • This coming Saturday the Walton Area Sports Club are planning for the.* Grand Opening of the new Reere- ation Center Budding. This is not a new community hall. The old: building will be used• for several functions. It is looked after by the Institute and the dance will be held at the community hall bringing the big event to a close. The parade Will start at 1:60 pan: with a ball game to: follow between the Walton Intermediates and the.CKNX. Try Hards, then the Opening ceremonies and dedication will precede the pork barbe- , cue from 54 p.m. The new recreation centre-will, house the new library and • a refreshment booth ' along • with• bathroom facilities which will.be a big asset for the sport fans of the com- munity. , Recent visitors with Mrs. Jean Broadfoot were , Mrs Mildred Jepson, Brantford, Mrs. Nan Britton, Hensill and, Mr. and Mrs. John McGowan, Seaforth. Last Majestic I has.. annual. -picnic - The Majestic Women's Institute held their annual picnic July 9 at the home of Doris McCall. Sports Sports and entertainment - were conducted by Leona Armstrong and. Jean Bell. The members will be going 'on a bus trip on August '13 to the Erland Lee Homestead at Stoney Creek, and to the Agricultural Museum at !Alton. Members wanting to go are asked to notify the committee by the end of July and' after that there will be seats available to non-members. A letter from the Caltander Nursing Home asked for volunteers to take patients out for, a walk, etc, and Mrs. Paul. Ponomarenko. • - The ladies used to be school•• chums in• Saskatchewan.
