hosted a 25th wedding anni-
versary party for Mr. and -
Mrs. Martin Scott of Gorrie,
held' at the Hedley .h&ne in
Teeswater on Sunday, when
about 30 relatives enjoyed a
smorgasbord supper on the
lawn.
Mrs. Wm. A. Smith was
hostess for a shower in
honour of Miss Erna Betcka
of Listowel on Wednesday
evening, who received sheets,
pillowslips, bath towels, tea
towels and crystal. Fifteen
friends of Erna attended.
Mrs. Lloyd Felker and Mrs.-
Glad. Edgar assisted the
hostess, Erna made a suit-
able reply.
Mr. and Mrs, Melville
Dennis were in Kitchener at
the weekend, attending the
wedding of their grandson,
Allan „Lewis, son of Mrs.
Frances Lewis and the late
Almon Lewis, and . Nancy
Bernhardt, R.N. daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Bern-
hardt. .The ceremony took
place in Trinity Anglican
Church, and the young
*AO will be residing in
Kitchener.

London on Friday.

how it can be a benefit for
farmers. lie outlined several
accounting firms which oper-
ate , through Canfarm, and
offered 'a look at the costs
involved in 'accounting,
The talk and presentation,'
touched-on a wide range, of
subjects, and looked at every
thine from swine manage-
ment to preparing a 'simple
income tax .return,
"Most. farmers ',seem to
want this bookkeeping ser,
vice," said John VanBeers, a ,
vice-president with the
Huron Federation." The cost
for -preparing the income tax
and the bookkeeping is about
$300, which is very reason-
able."
Mr. VanBe'ers' introduced
the. Canfarm, representative
to the meeting, and after his
talk Mr. Little headed a
question period.
Another new face intro-
duced at the meeting was
that of Johannes Jarvalt, who
is the new Ontario Feder-
ation of Agriculture (OFA)
lawyer. ,He replaced' Jim
Murray, and has beenc,at-his
post now for 'a little more
than three weeks.'
The next item was the
report from the federation'
county .field man, Bill Craw'
ford. The focus of his report
centred on the federation's
membership drive which be-
gan in April and resulted in
an increase to 2,114' Mem-
bers. .
There will be."'another
membership drive. in the fall
when volunteers begin their
door to door campaign look-
