Summer
session
vacation
"Summer Campus" at the
University of Guelph appeals
to all ages, and seniors are
no c ,iception. Many appre-
ciate the diversity and econ-
omy of this vacation pro-
gram, the only, one of its kind
in Canada, which provides
workshops, recreational and
cultural activities for all ages
and interests..
To encourage Canadians
65 years of age or older to
attend, the University stipul-
ates that thcy may register in
any course by paying a $20
administrative fee. The only
provisions- are that registr:
ation must be sufficient to
support the course and that
places are available in
courses' with limited enrol-
ment. An additional charge
to cover supplies and mater-
ials is necessary in a few
cases. There are no academic
requirements or examin-
ations.
The majority of courses,
which this year run for two
one-week sessions beginning
'July 7 and 14, are regularly
$70.00. They include ,conver-
sational French, flower ar-
ranging, piano-playing, solar
energy, reincarnation, api-
culture, nature of disease,
drawing, calligraphy, and
writing with famous Can-
adian author, Harry Boyle.
Since classes lend early
each afternoon, vacationers
have time to enjoy the plc-
, turesque Guelph campus or
to explore the charming sur-
rounding countryside. Even-
ing recreation this year in-
cludeS films, a social, a
community barbecue and a
concert.
