The play tells the . story of a Newfoundland miner caught between the demands'of progress and his conviction that the old ways are the mainstays of his province. On that date, the sixth season of the Festival gets underway with opening At long last, theatre-goers who prefer a bird's eye view of the preceedings will get their fondest wish realized at the Blyth Memorial Hall. For the first time since the building was put back into general use in 1975, eighty- eight balcony seats will be available to the general public. The re-opening of the balcony appropriately commemorates the diamond jubilee of the hall. Blyth Memorial Hall originally housed many of the famous performers and vaudeville shows that toured Sou th- western Ontario in the 1920's. 1980 also marks• the completion of an extensive renovation and expansion. piOject.
